NWCFL Premier Division

1874 Northwich 1-0 Litherland REMYCA

1874 Northwich manager Wayne Goodison, "A difficult afternoon for us as an improved and resolute Litherland side made it hard for us to break down. Ultimately a well-worked goal for us was the difference and while we never felt under threat, one goal always means a tight ending.

"Massive credit to all our players though for the way they stuck at things and picked up a deserved win."

Charnock Richard 2-0 Irlam

Charnock Richard manager Ryan Donnellan, "I thought we thoroughly deserved the win... if it wasn’t for their keeper it could have been 5 or 6 Nil. We were solid throughout the game, from front to back and didn’t give Irlam much opportunity to get a foothold in the game. Another very pleasing result and performance. "

Hanley Town 2-2 Northwich Victoria

Northwich Victoria manager Steve Wilkes," Really pleased with the performance today. I think anyone who was at the game would agree we deserved all three points. Hanley's keeper made 3 fantastic saves.

"Luck isn't on our side at the moment, my keeper pulled his groin in the warm-up and couldn't kick the ball all game, but we'll keep working hard and hopefully get the win we deserve."

Longridge Town 5-3 Winsford United

Longridge Town manager Lee Ashcroft," A fantastic game of football for all the supporters. Both sets of players gave everything, it was a great 3 points for us.

"Winsford are a strong team with some good players in, I'd like to thank there manager for the kind words after the game ."

Rylands 0-1 Barnoldswick Town

Barnoldswick Town manager Endrit Shehu, 'The best team performance since I took over as Barnoldswick Town Manager. We had a game plan and the players followed it and executed it perfectly.

"We got the goal in the first half and I thought we were the better team. Second half we defended well and managed the game. We had to work hard and every single player did that extremely well.

"I’m so proud of every single one of my players and a massive thank you to all the Barlick supporters who came to watch. Their voices were well heard."

Skelmersdale United 3-2 Padiham

Skelmersdale United manager Paul McNally, "I didn’t think we were at our best today but the lads showed great character to get the win against a very strong experienced Padiham side.

"Great to get another home victory in front of our superb supporters and we now move onto another tough game away to Whitchurch on Monday night."

Whitchurch Alport 0-3 Runcorn Town

Runcorn Town manager Paul McManus, "Fantastic result and performance away from home today, first half we where by far the better side playing some really good football on what I can only say is the best pitch we have played on this season and with the bad weather also just a quick well done to all at Whitchurch to get the pitch in such condition!!

"We went in at half time deservedly 2-0 up and the second half, of course, they came at us and put us under pressure second half but I was more pleased than the first half as was perfect away performance as we soaked their pressure up had more chances ourselves and finally took one to kill the game off at 3-0.

"Very pleased to start 2020 on a winning platform which we now need to kick on from and fulfil our potential."
