Father and son duo Kenny and Louis Mayers completed a unique double for Squires Gate in their 3-3 draw up at Colne on Saturday 13th November.
In a game that saw Gate go three goals up before Colne staged a remarkable recovery, Kenny scored the visitors' second goal in the 14th minute and son Louis added the third goal on the half hour mark.
Gate Secretary John Maguire said: "We had the wind and the slope in our favour in the first half, and it worked to Colne's advantage in the second half.Â
"It was disappointing to end up with just a point, but at least the game was notable for the unusual feat of both father and son getting on the score sheet for us. It's certainly the first time that has happened at Squires Gate as far as anyone can remember, and it would be interesting to know if it's ever happened in our league before now."
