After a busy month, the nominations from clubs for Goalkeeper of the month have been strong.  Many clubs who have progressed in their respective Divisions over the last month or so have cited their Goalkeeper as a key reason for their progress which has what's made this month a particularly tough one to call.  However, the winners of the Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month awards for September 2023 are as follows:

Premier Division

Goalkeeper Name: Jordan Hadlow - Prestwich Heys
Games Played: 7
Man of the Match: 2
Clean Sheets: 3
Conceded: 4

In the nomination submission, Heys stated that  "Jordan has played in all the games this season and is a strong character and an organiser. He has played with a lot of defenders for various reasons including injuries but he has remained calm and resolute in directing his defence. He has a commanding presence and is a fantastic shot stopper. Quite often keeping Prestwich Heys in games being an unsung hero."  This has been backed by some solid stats in a run of games where Heys have kept some pretty trigger happy strikers at bay.  Congratulations Jordan!

First Division North

Goalkeeper Name: Daniel Harrison (Ashton Town)
Games Played: 4
Man of the Match: 0
Clean Sheets: 3
Conceded: 1

In Ashton Town's Nomination they point out "Dan, who is only 18, and only joined us this month, his immediate impact on the confidence he has instilled in our defence has shown such a difference so far, sometimes we forget how young some of our players are and yet they defy the young years with mature and confident displays, we already you can see he is going to be a very good goal keeper in supporting our back line and is showing that confidence vocally barking out instructions not only to our defence but also to our midfield and forwards!! His continued vigilance during spells of inactivity which are key to him ensuring alertness for key moments of inactivity during a game. This vigilance and his abilities has been instrumental in our club being top of the First Division North, last 6 matches WWDWDW"   In what was a detailed submission it is apparent that Dan has played a massive role for their club in September, including a solid performance in Town's Isuzu FA Vase win over Golcar.  So it is Dan who will receive the First Division North award from Reusch for September.  Well done Dan!

First Division South

Goalkeeper Name: Tony Allsopp (Brocton)
Games Played: 5
Man of the Match: 0
Clean Sheets: 2
Conceded: 3

It is another Monthly award for Brocton's Tony Allsopp who has again been cited by his club as a key reson for their continued good form across the Month of September.  In their write-up, they state:  "Another month of fine consistent performances by Tony made a brilliant save in the last minute at Alasager to ensure our victory and saved a penalty at Eccleshall, a good all round performance across the month."

Congratulations to Tony and we will be making another visit to see you shortly.
