The Award winners of the Reusch UK Goalkeeper of the Month for March 2024 have been confirmed at the recent League Management Committee Meeting.
The Winner of the Premier Division Award is Wythenshawe FC's Kyle Haslam. Kyle played in seven of the clubs games, keeping four clean sheets and only conceding four goals in a month that has seen his side maintain their title challenge across the month. The Clubs nomination statement was clearly enthusiastic about his efforts across the month and it is easy to see why. "We nominate Kyle Haslam for NWCFL Premier Division Goalkeeper of the month for March 2024. He has played all seven matches in March, four clean sheets, conceded only four, more than contributed to the team having the best the best defensive record in the league, and one of the best records at Step 5 in the country, conceding fewer than one goal per game on average. A remarkable achievement, and full credit to Kyle andthe team....."
In First Division South, our congratulations go to Joseph Oldham of New Mills as the Millers claim a clean sweep of the Monthly awards across the Division. Joseph played in 6 games keeping 6 clean sheets. How can anyone argue with that as a strong nomination itself. The clubs nomination statement was equally as compelling. "When Joey Oldham joined The Millers back in December few supporters realised the quality performer that they were getting. Having impressed on his debut in the win at Cammell Laird just before Christmas and then again in the defeat at Maine Road in January in which he saved a penalty. Oldham spent a spell on the sidelines with injury before returning in spectacular fashion. In spite of conceding three goals agains Droylsden in the 3-3 draw in late February Oldham was outstanding and he took that form into the month of March. An outstanding month by the goalkeeper and he is deserving of this nomination."
Congratulations to Joseph!
In First Division North it is Atherton LR's Joseph Bickerstaffe who takes the award, having had a great month for his club as they consolidated a play-off space. Joseph played 4 games, conceded 3 and 1 clean sheet.
The nomination statement states "Joe has, once more, had a fantastic month 'in between the sticks' at LR. His performances in March have again demonstrated his importance to the team, being relied on to make crucial saves whilst being pivotal to the team's play with the ball. His month began away in a huge game at Ashton Town - the league's 2nd top scorers. As in previous games, Joe made important saves to keep the opponent's attackers at bay, earning a clean sheet in the process as LR came away with a 3-0 win. In the other games this month, Joe's displays in goal have helped to earn the 3 points in a month where LR had a 100% record. His shot-stopping has been excellent, most exemplified in his jaw-dropping save at the death of the game vs Runcorn Town. Furthermore, his distribution on the ball is a key focal point in LR's attacking play, showing the strength of his all-round play."
Our congratulations to all winners, our representatives will be out over the coming days to present the awards on behalf of our friends and commercial partners at Reusch UK.
