By Craig Kendall

The Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month Awards have been confirmed by League Awards Co-Ordinator, Peter Stokes and we are delighted to announce the winners for December 2019.

Macron Club of the Month was announced on Tuesday morning and here is a reminder:

PREMIER DIVISION - 1874 NORTHWICH (For the third month running!)

DIVISION ONE NORTH - Withdrawn due to a disciplinary issue.

DIVISION ONE SOUTH - FC OSWESTRY TOWN

NWCFL Premier Division Goalkeeper of December is Avro's Jordan Latham

Games Played: 5

Man of the Match: 0

Clean Sheets: 2

Conceded: 4

Reason for Nomination: "Our Goalkeeper of the Month as usual, goes to Jordan Lathan. At Irlam on Boxing Day Jordan completed the milestone of 75 appearances for Avros in NWCFL, a fantastic achievement for such a young player – Jordan is still only 20. As 1st Division North Keeper of the Year for 2018/19 Jordan has stepped up in the Premier Division where the class of opposition is consistently higher and he has been faced with some formidable strikers. In December Jordan contributed to our very good run of 3 wins with 2 clean sheets.

The first away at Hanley Town on a freezing December midweek night, and the second clean sheet coming at Irlam on Boxing Day when the opposition included Jordan Buckley who has been playing for FC United in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, and we were reduced to 10 men for the last 25 minutes of the game. Jordan conceded only 4 goals in 450 minutes of football in December, which is a superb achievement at our level. Jordan has shown himself to still be developing as a goalkeeper and we have definitely seen him finding his feet now at the higher level of the Premier Division and producing performances of a consistently high standard."

NWCFL First Division North Goalkeeper of December is Ashton Town's Chris Cheetham

Games Played: 4

Man of the Match: 0

Clean Sheets: 2

Conceded: 5

Reason for Nomination: "Christopher Cheetham is a recent recruit this season, joining us in the middle of November this season, signing his registration form on the 15th November. He comes to join us with some pedigree of experience at a higher level. He has moulded a great relationship with the rest of the team in almost no time whatsoever and you would think he has been with us for ages. He supports fellow team members both during training sessions, match days and off field also. He is an imposing presence between the posts. With the previous experience he brings with him has quickly shown what a solid goal keeper he is in supporting our back line and is a very vocal keeper barking out instructions not only to our defence but also to our midfield and forwards!!

"His continued vigilance during spells of none activity are key to him ensuring alertness for key moments during a game. Chris has played in the following games this month:- Saturday 7th December away to Nelson in a disappointing 3-1 loss, some quality goal keeping in this match from not only saves made but also the way in which he marshalled the defence. Tuesday 17th December at home to Shelley in the league in a convincing 5-0 win, making some crucial saves during the game to snuff out the Shelley threats keeping a clean sheet. Saturday 21st December in the league away to AFC Blackpool in a 2-0 loss, making some fine saves in a crazy match we should have won after squandering numerous chances up front which cost us dearly in the end. Saturday 28th December at home in the league to Pilkington in a not for the faint hearted supporter winning 3-2 in the dying seconds of extra time!"
NWCFL First Division South Goalkeeper of December is Main Road's Conrad Betton
Games Played: 4

Man of the Match: 2

Clean Sheets: 3

Conceded: 2

Reason for Nomination: "After only one clean sheet all season, Conrad has kept four clean sheets in the last five games and has excelled with some vital save."
