The Macron Player and Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month Awards have been confirmed by League Awards Co-Ordinator, Peter Stokes and we are delighted to announce the winners for August 2019.

In the North West Counties League Premier Division the Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month award goes to Graeme McCall of Rylands FC.

In a superb month for the club as they adapted well to life in the NWCFL Premier Division. Graeme played six games, keeping three clean sheets and conceding only three goals.

As part of Rylands Nomination statement they tell us that “Graeme has started the season way he finished the last one in fantastic form and very much one of the clubs key players. First up was a very good victory over Charnock Richard where Graeme was very impressive making a number of brilliant saves to keep us on top in the game. A clean sheet and a faultless display against REMYCA helped the team to two straight wins in the league. Two clean sheets followed with a 5-0 win at home to Avro and a 0-0 draw with Burscough with Graeme performing very well in both games, numerous quality saves but also his distribution being exceptionally good. Graeme's last game of the season was arguably his best as we beat Ashton Athletic 2-1. Graeme made a number of top-quality saves and helped organise the defence to see us over the line. Only a 93rd minute penalty could beat him. A fantastic month for the club and for Graeme.”

The North West Counties League Premier Division Macron Player of the Month award goes to Jake Parker of 1874 Northwich.

Jake played in eight games for 1874 in August, scoring eight goals with one Man of the Match nomination.

As part of 1874 Northwich’s nomination statement they tell us that Jake returned to the club this season after spending much of last season unavailable due to work issues. He scored in the clubs opening day 4-1 win over Padiham. In the clubs second game, a derby against Winsford United, the team earned a convincing three points with Jake making the headlines, a spectacular goal from 30 yards earned national publicity on social media with over 100,000 views (The Lights out goal!).

Jake has scored key goals in both derbies and FA Cup ties and has led the way for the club. Jake’s return to the club has so far, been a very successful one. He has enjoyed making quite a few headlines and has also soaked up the banter from his team mates, to earn many plaudits during August.

After a frenetic start to the Division One North season there were a number of stand-out candidates which gave the Awards section a lot to work on.

The North West Counties League Reusch Division One North Goalkeeper of the Month is awarded to Russell Saunders of Prestwich Heys.

Russell played seven goals, keeping three clean sheets in August but has been in excellent form for the club as they have got off to a good start in D1N.

The club cite in their nomination that despite conceding four goals in the opening two games, Heys have gone on to concede only three in six games, starting with an impressive win over Ashton Town, and the rock sat behind a defence improving game after game was ‘keeper Russ Saunders, his alertness thwarting Ashton every time they had a sight of goal. At both Shelley and Chadderton, Russ was instrumental in taking four points, saving from close-range and later with a fine stretch to tip wide in Yorkshire, and showing his versatility at Chadderton with saves to his left and right, as well as a goal-bound shot with his feet at the near post to keep Heys in the game.

Clean sheets followed in Heys games against Atherton Laburnum Rovers and AFC Liverpool and then in their eye catching 1-0 FA Vase win over 1874 Northwich Russ kept Heys’ hopes alive with a number of close-range saves on a busy day for the Goalkeeper.

The North West Counties League Macron Division One North Player of the Month is awarded to Dylan Glass of Ashton Town.

The Striker played six games in the month scoring eight goals, seven assists and netting two man of the match awards!

Not surprisingly, Ashton Town were keen to put Dylan forward in their Player of the Month nomination and wax lyrical about an amazing month performance. “Dylan has the uncanny knack of being able to literally pop up anywhere across the front line positions

“The best performance by far so far this month was his superb display against Daisy Hill in which he not only scored a great hat trick but was also unplayable as far as Daisy Hill were concerned and quite rightly was awarded the MoM. He is currently the Division One North leading goal scorer with eight goals from five games and has seven assists. His fellow team mates love playing with him as he is an unselfish player as demonstrated by the number of assists he has so far”.

Congratulations to Dylan on his August award.

After an equally intense start to the Division One South campaign there were a number of high achieving candidates at clubs that have got off to good starts.

The North West Counties League Reusch Division One South Goalkeeper of the Month is awarded to Ryan Crump of Vauxhall Motors FC.

Ryan played six games in August and despite receiving no Man of the Match nominations he kept four clean sheets.

Ryan is the latest addition to the Vauxhall Motors FC squad and in the short space of time he has been at the club they are of the opinion that he has taken the defence to a new level of meanness with just 3 goals conceded in 6 games and 4 clean sheets. Clearly a player they rate, so well done to Ryan on this award.

The North West Counties League Macron Division One South Player of the Month is awarded to Juesuran Uchegbulam of Stockport Town.

Juesuran is a Striker who played 7 games in August and caught the eye. He scored six goals with two assists and bagged six man of the Match awards. As part of his nomination from his club, they say that he joined the club at the start of this season from Mossley in his second stint, having originally joined as a 16 year-old via the clubs BTEC Course.

Jesurun has been in sensational form according to Stockport Town, starting 6 out of first seven fixtures scoring 6 goals, assisting in 2 further goals and winning 2 penalties. Jesurun received 6 consecutive MOTM nominations from his opponents including one after coming on as a half time substitute. Jesurun is rated as a fantastic talent by the club and always plays with a smile on his face and his form has been a bright light for the club, in what has been a difficult start to their league campaign.

Well done to all winners for August and to their clubs for their detailed nominations.
