The Goalkeeper of the Month awards for November 2022 have been announced.

PREMIER DIVISION - GRANT SHENTON (AVRO)

Winning this award for the second time this season is Grant Shenton from Avro.

It has been another superb month for the Avro captain. He kept clean sheets to start the month in wins against Litherland REMYCA and West Didsbury & Chorlton, and was instrumental in a 2-1 victory at Irlam with some important saves.

Another two clean sheets followed in cup competitions against Glossop North End and Stockport Georgians. Both games ended goalless with Avro progressing on penalties in one of those competitions. Shents' clean sheets in those games took him to an amazing 13 clean sheets from 22 games played this season.

The final two games of the month brought 2-1 wins at Ashton Athletic and Vauxhall Motors, Shents again contributing to victory with some fine saves and marshalling the defence well.

Well done Grant!

FIRST DIVISION NORTH - JAKE HILTON (PILKINGTON)

Also winning this award for the second time this season is Jake Hilton from Pilkington.

November was an action packed month for Pilkington with three League games followed by three cup games. November saw the first league defeat for Pilks at the hands of Euxton Villa at the beginning of the month, but Jake put that behind him with some great saves as he kept clean sheets at Nelson and at home to Cleator Moor Celtic. The Cleator Moor game saw him nominated as Pilks' Man of the Match.

In the cup games, Jake was the hero in Pilkington’s penalty shootout victory against Premier Division side Irlam, making a stunning save from the penultimate penalty before teammate Chris Cottingham put them through.

Jake also put in a fantastic performance in Pilkington’s defeat to Marine and if it was not for his heroics the scoreline could have been significantly worse for Pilkington. Lets hope Jake can continue this form into December and over the festive period.

Well done Jake!

FIRST DIVISION SOUTH - JOE LAWTON (ABBEY HEY)

Making it a hat-trick of second time winners is Joe Lawton, the Abbey Hey shot stopper picking up his second award in three months.

The first game of the month was a close encounter at Brocton, with the home side winning the game 1-0 with Joe in fine form. He followed this up with another great performance at higher opposition in Thackley, as Abbey progressed through in the Isuzu FA Vase with a 3-0 win.

A 4-2 win followed at Stafford before Joe again kept Abbey Hey in the game at Premier Division Barnoldswick Town in the Macron Cup. With the game finishing little, he could do nothing in the shoot-out with Barlick progressing.

After the game at Eccleshall was abandoned due to fog, Joe picked up his second clean sheet from five games played as Abbey won 3-0 at Cammell Laird 1907.

Wel done Joe!
