The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition. Last months winners were are as follows:

Premier Division - West Didsbury & Chorlton

Winning the Premier Division award for October 2025 is West Didsbury & Chorlton. This is their first monthly award since winning the First Division South version in March 2022, and their first in the Premier Division since April 2017.

West have had a superb month, with four wins from four in the league propelling them up to second in the Premier Division. They also had wins in three cup competitions - the Isuzu FA Vase, the Macron Cup and the Manchester Premier Cup, with their only defeat in the league coming at the hands of higher ranked Clitheroe in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy.

The first game in November was a 5-0 win at Pilkington, a scoreline that looked unlikely at half time with the score goalless. West took the lead just six minutes into the second half through Harvey Roberts, and from there it was pretty much one way traffic. Jordan Lazenbury added a second on the hour, and ten minutes later it was three with Kaleb Parkinson getting his name on the scoresheet. Two goals inside three minutes shortly after then sealed the win, with Lazenbury grabbing his second on 76 minutes and Billy Matthews adding the fifth on 78 minutes.

West then travelled to last month's Club of the Month winners Cheadle Town, and again returned the short distance home with all three points. This time it was a closer affair that again was goalless at half time, with the only goal of the game coming from Victor Abadaki who found the net on 72 minutes.

A third successive away game came at Northern Counties East League side Brigg Town in the Isuzu FA Vase. West found themselves a goal ahead after just 20 minutes through Kaleb Parkinson, but just seven minutes later Brigg had levelled the scores. That was how it stayed until three minutes into stoppage time when Brandon Dawson scored for West to send the travelling supporters home happy with West advancing through to the Third Round.

Back at home at the Step Places Stadium for their fourth match of the month, West hit the ground running against City of Liverpool in the league as they found themselves two goals ahead after just eight minutes. First Jordan Lazenbury scored with Paul Riley doubling the scoreline. The Purps pulled one back just five minutes later, but a late charge in the second half put the game beyond reach. Victor Abadaki restored the two goal lead on 38 minutes with Lazenbury adding the fourth and his second from the spot just before half time. Five minutes into the second half Lewis Billingsley made it five, and with four minutes remaining, Billingsley grabbed his second of the game to make it 6-1.

A fifth successive win came as West travelled to FC Isle of Man midway through the month, with the club taking an army of supporters with them for the weekend. They had something to cheer as Jack Banister opened the scoring on 16 minutes, and were still in fine voice when Banister doubled his tally and West's lead five minutes later. The Ravens pulled one back with four minutes to go, only for Jordan Lazenbury to seal the win four minutes into stoppage time with his fifth goal of the month.

West's winning run came to an end as Northern Premier League West side Clitheroe won 5-0 in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy. It was a chance for Manager Paul Marshall to rotate his squad, with West not helping themselves by scoring twice for the opposition in that game!

They soon put that hiccup behind them though with a superb 2-1 win at Ramsbottom United in the Third Round of the Macron Cup. Jordan Lazenbury put them ahead five minutes before the break with Jack Banister doubling the lead five minutes into the second half. A goal with a minute left on the clock for Rammy made it a tense ending, but West held on to reach the Quarter Finals.

The final game of the month saw another Northern Premier League West side visit in the Manchester Premier Cup. This time though West emerged victorious, with Stalybridge Celtic beaten 3-1. Celtic took the lead on 13 minutes, with West levelling just before half time through Brandon Dawson. Kaleb Parkinson then put them in control on the hour, with the seventh goal of the month from Jordan Lazenbury sealing the win just five minutes later.

Those performances gave West 27 points from their 8 games for a 3.38 average.

West Didsbury & Chorlton were the stand out this month, with FC St Helens quite a way back with three wins and two draws. Ramsbottom United also did well with four wins, a draw and a loss, with AFC Liverpool, Irlam and Padiham also doing well.

First Division North - Nelson

Club of the Month in the First Division North for the third successive month is Nelson.

They are the first club to win three successive Club awards since 1874 Northwich did it towards the end of 2019, and the first side to do it since the First Division split in two. In fact the last First Division side to win three successive Club awards was Atherton Collieries, that coming back in the 2014/15 season.

Nelson played four games in the month, winning three and drawing the other, with one of their wins coming at the expense of a higher ranked side for the third month running.

Their first scheduled game in November was actually postponed, the weather scuppering a home tie with Garstang. The following Saturday they travelled to Premier Division Charnock Richard in the Isuzu FA Vase. After a goalless first half, Jamie Edwards put them ahead on 67 minutes, with an Own Goal doubling the lead eight minutes later. That's how it stayed with Nelson reaching to Third Round of the Vase for the very first time.

Four days later and another cup tie, this time at home to MSB Woolton in the Edward Case Cup. Woolton actually took the lead in this game on 24 minutes, with Nelson hitting back just before the hour mark through Luke Hepple. With penalties on the horizon, the Admirals went and won it through Lewis Brown, whose goal three minutes into stoppage time put them into the next round.

Again the weather got the better of them, with their Edward Case Cup at Daisy Hill and their Lancashire Challenge Trophy tie at Squires Gate both postponed due to waterlogged pitches. They got things going again though with a trip to Sandbach United in the Macron Cup. Again they found themselves behind after just seven minutes, with William Ludlow Foster levelling 20 minutes later. Five minutes into the second half Ryan Bolton put Nelson ahead, and they secured their place in the Quarter Finals when Jack Doherty made it 3-1 with a goal on 69 minutes.

Nelson's form this season has been quite exceptional. Since losing at Maghull in mid-August, Nelson had won 15 successive games of which just one came on penalties. Its poetic then that the return game against Maghull at home ended this winning run. They took the lead in this game after just six minutes through Luke Hepple, but had to settle for a point when Maghull levelled on 38 minutes.

That draw gave them a 14 points from their 4 games for a 3.50 average.

Bacup Borough were their closest challengers with an away win and two away draws. Droylsden also had a good month as they beat higher ranked Northwich Victoria in the FA Vase as well as a home win and away loss.

First Division South - Eccleshall

The winner of the Club of the Month in the First Division South for November are Eccleshall. This is the first monthly award this season for Eccleshall, with their last coming back in February 2025.

The Eagles have been in great form this season and November was simply perfect, with five wins coming from the five games that they played! They won all four league games that they played to keep the pressure up on Runcorn Town at the top of the division, as well as a superb win against a higher ranked side in the Staffordshire County Cup.

First up was a trip to Wolverhampton Casuals where Jacob Vernon put them ahead 11 minutes before half time. They found themselves level at the break with Casuals scoring with four minutes of the half remaining, but just five minutes into the second half Vernon grabbed his second of the game to restore the lead. It remained close until eight minutes from time when Eccleshall made it 3-1, Daniel Glover the scorer.

Next up was Abbey Hulton United in the Staffordshire County Cup, last seasons First Division South Play-Off Winners currently having a great season sitting in second place in the Midland League. They were no match for Eccleshall here though with a first half that won them the game. First Daniel Glover put them ahead on 15 minutes with Nicky Parker doubling the lead seven minutes later. Glover made it 3-0 two minutes before the break and that's how it stayed with Eccleshall taking their place in the next round.

Back to league action and Ashville were the visitors to the Stoke Signage Stadium. The second half saw the Wirral men reduced to ten men and they put on a superb defensive performance against continual Eccleshall onslaughts. Eventually though pressure told as a Ben Marshall header won the game 1-0 for the home side, with the goal officially timed at 101 minutes!

Next up was a trip to Barnton, and if you were late parking the car then you missed a good chunk of the goals! Eccleshall took the lead in the first minute through Nicky Parker and were 2-0 up after just five minutes through Daniel Glover. It remained that way until the 73rd minute when Glover grabbed his second to give the Eagles a 3-0 win.

The final game of the month for Eccleshall saw Haughmond visit them, and it was another early start as Jacob Vernon put them ahead on five minutes. Haughmond levelled on 20 minutes only for a two goal blast to put the home side in control. First Vernon restored the lead on 34 minutes, and three minutes later Daniel Glover made it three. Seven minutes into the second half Jack Warren added a fourth, with a fifth coming from Francis Church 12 minutes from time. Haughmond reduced the defecit with three minutes remaining but Daniel Glover's second of the game made it 6-2 in stoppage time to secure another three points.

That gave Eccleshall 19 points from their 5 games for a 3.80 average.

Several teams did well in November, including nearest challengers Runcorn Town who had four wins and one loss. Foley Meir and New Mills also performed well with three wins and one loss, with Cheadle Heath Nomads also doing well.
