PREMIER DIVISION
The North West Counties League Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month Award for March 2026 has gone to Kyle Haslam of Prestwich Heys. This is the fourth time that Kyle has won this award after winning it three times for Wythenshawe, the last of those coming in February 2024.
The 29-year old started at Radcliffe before moving to Stockport Town in 2017. He then moved to Charnock Richard before joining Wythenshawe in the 2019/20 season. He remained at the Ammies for six seasons, winning the NWCFL Premier Division with them, before moving to Cheadle Town at the start of this season. He joined Prestwich in November where he became first choice goalkeeper. He has made over 200 appearances in the NWCFL.
Kyle had an almost perfect month in March. He played in all seven games that Prestwich played and kept six clean sheets, only conceding the one goal as his club won all seven matches in the month.
The first game in March was a 1-0 win at home to Stockport Town. The match, which saw a pitch invasion by the local fox at one point, saw Prestwich ahead in the closing stages as Stockport broke. Harley Monaghan hit a volley from the edge of the area that was destined for the top corner with Kyle producing a superb save as he tipped the ball over the bar at full stretch and effectively ensured the three points.
Next up was Litherland Remyca, a game where Kyle conceded his only goal of the month and it was a special goal that did beat him, a half volley on the turn from Dillon O’Callaghan in the 84th minute to level matters. Prestwich hit a late winner, but were indebted to Kyle for his saves.
The third game of the month brought Longridge Town to Adie Moran Park, Prestwich winning 2-0. Kyle dropped low to deny Liam Atkinson and then early in the second half kept out a Paul Turner shot and then produced a great save on the hour to thwart Lucas Wane. These were key as they denied Longridge an equaliser, with Prestwich adding a second shortly after.
Next was a 7-0 win over City of Liverpool, Kyle being rarely tested but demonstrated his level of concentration in dealing competently with crosses into the area and from the oppositions’ main threats at set pieces.
He was instrumental in the next game, a 2-0 home win over Irlam. He made key first half stops from Ethan Cartwright and Ross Davidson with the score goalless, and after Prestwich had taken the lead, clawed away a shot from Callum Sandle from underneath his crossbar. This paved the way for a late surge that saw a second goal that secured another win.
The 2-0 won at South Liverpool saw Prestwich again largely in control with Kyle making important saves in each half from a close range shot and then a header late in the second period.
Concluding the month was a 1-0 home win over St. Helens. Chances were at a premium, but the big moment came three minutes from time when St. Helens substitute Chris Hill ran into the box then struck with a powerful effort, forcing Kyle to leap and get a strong hand to it to somehow keep it out. Certainly, a contender for save of the season.
Throughout the month Kyle has been incredibly consistent. His contribution has played a part in the team now having the best defensive record in the division, having conceded only seven goals in thirteen matches since Kyle came into the team.
Congratulations to Kyle on his Award!
FIRST DIVISION NORTH
The Goalkeeper of the Month award for the First Division North for February 2026 has gone to Morgan Newns of Ashton Town. This is the second Goalkeeper award for Morgan this season after winning it in December 2025 when he was at Darwen. He also won the award when he was at Daisy Hill.
Morgan started his career in non-league football with West Didsbury and Chorlton in 2018/19 but made just one first team appearance. He moved to Northwich Victoria and Atherton LR before switching to Charnock Richard. He established himself at Daisy Hill when he switched midway through the 2021/22 season, making over 100 appearances for the Cutters over the next four seasons. He moved to Darwen in October before joining Ashton Town in January this year.
First up for Morgan in March was AFC Blackpool at home with Ashton winning a close game 1-0. Morgan made some outstanding saves during the match which secured the win for his side, with his performance in the game bringing him a deserved Man of the Match nomination.
The following Saturday was a 2-1 loss at Maghull, with the game very much end to end throughout. Again Morgan made a number of key saves, notably in from Connor Rankin who he saved good shots from in each half. He could do nothing about either goal, one an own goal and the other a header from a corner.
In the midweek game against Nelson, it was goalless at the break with Morgan the busier of the two keepers in the second half after Ashton went two goals ahead. Again he had little chance to save either goal as Nelson hit back to draw 2-2.
Garstang was next with Ashton picking up a 1-0 win and another clean sheet for Morgan. He pulled off a great stop from Liam Clegg in the first half with the score goalless, with Garstang thwarted by some fine goal keeper from Morgan as the game reached its conclusion.
The final Saturday of the month saw Ashton at home to Holker Old Boys in a feisty match which they won 1-0, Morgan's third clean sheet of the month. Holker applied a lot of pressure as the game went on, and only for some fine saves from Morgan did they run out 1-0 winners.
The last match of March came in a 2-1 loss at Daisy Hill. With his side trailing 1-0, Morgan made two fine stops from Liam Sheppard and Harry Forshaw around the hour mark to keep his side in the game. However it wasn't enough with the Cutters going on to win the game.
Overall a fine month where Morgan played six games and conceded six goals in the month. He also kept three clean sheets and picked up one Man of the Match award.
Congratulations!
FIRST DIVISION SOUTH
The winner of the March 2026 Goalkeeper of the Month Award for the First Division South is once again Will Ebbrell of Runcorn Town. Will has now won this award for the fourth successive month and the fifth time in total this season.
Will is in his third season in the league after playing previously for Ashville and Cammell Laird 1907, before moving to Runcorn Town at the start of this season. March saw him continue his excellent record to 23 clean sheets in 47 games played this season, with just 28 goals conceded in total.
March was a busy month with ten games played for Will. The opener was against National League North side Marine in the Liverpool Senior Cup. He could do nothing about the opening goal for Marine, a 25-yard effot that found the top corner. Leading 2-1 though, Will pulled off a tremendous save from Jed Abbey's close range header to maintain the lead, then was quick off his line to smother a shot from Reece Williams.
A Thursday trip to New Mills saw Runcorn lead early. The second half in particular saw New Mills pile on the pressure and a lot of the second half was played in the Runcorn half, but Ebbrell and his defence dug in, most notably with six consecutive Millers corners, to keep the clean sheet and gain the win.
Runcorn again raced into a 3-0 lead in the next game at Stafford Town. The home side went close on the stroke of half time, Ebbrell saving Dimitri Dunkley's shot. The second half saw him block a header from Michael Williams, and push a looping header over the bar. He was denied a clean sheet late on when he was beaten from the penalty spot by Patryk Mazurkiewicz.
At Wolves Casuals, Will saved early from a Kingsley Gyamfi header, then at 1-0, made key stops from a free kick and a shot from the edge of the box. He was unlucky again not to get a clean sheet, a well struck free kick saved by Ebbrell, but Zachary Jackson headed in the loose ball for the equaliser.
A trip to Nelson in the Edward Case Cup Final brought another clean sheet in a 2-0 win. Nelson were the better side in the first half, with Ebbrell saving late in the half from Ryan Cattermole's low shot then an effort from Max Cane. He also made good stops in the second half from Lewis Hanley's low shot and Ben Fyles' effort.
Another cup game followed as Runcorn beat Stockport Town 3-2 in the Cheshire Senior Cup. Will was beaten by two stunning strikes, the second from Frank Church a goal of the season contender, but he was alert enough late on to prevent Terry Benson-Brewer hitting a winner as he dove to his left to tip his effort around the post.
A somewhat quiet night at Cammell Laird 1907 followed with Ebbrall keeping a third clean sheet of the month in a 3-0 win. His only real contributions were saving a couple of shots from Liam Driscoll in the second half.
Runcorn's run of 19 successive victories ended as Cheadle Heath Nomads drew 1-1 at Runcorn. It could have been a loss though if not for Ebbrell, who made a superb save shortly after Nomads' equaliser. George Colville drove forward all the way to the edge of the box and chose to have a crack, but it was met by the gloves of Ebbrell to make a brilliant save and put the ball out for a Cheadle corner. He also saved from Daniel Lewis and Jack Ryan.
The final game brought the fourth clean sheet of the month as Runcorn beat Alsager Town 6-0. It was a comfortable night with only Sam Stephens' effort testing him. He also got an assist in this game for as his free kick teed up Gary Robinson for the final goal of the game.
Congratulations Will!
