March 2026 PST Sport Club of the Month

We are delighted to confirm our PST Sport Club of the Month winners for March 2026.

The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition. Last months winners were are as follows:


Premier Division - Atherton LR

Winning the Premier Division award for March 2026 is Atherton LR. This is their second monthly award in the Premier Division, and an award they have won for the second successive month after winning it in Febuary.

LR played nine games in the month, winning eight of them and drawing the other. Five of their wins came away from home. They scored a whopping 31 goals in the month and conceded just six, with five clean sheets. 

The first game in March saw them host Euxton Villa on a Sunday morning as part of the NWCFL Groundhop. They took the lead through Joe Bacon after just five minutes with Abiola Obasoto adding the second on 73 minutes. 

A week later they travelled to FC Isle of Man and got off to the perfect start with Edward Jones and Thomas Romano putting LR two goals ahead after just seven minutes. Romano added a another on 15 minutes before Kyle Watson pulled one back from the spot midway through an action packed first half. It remained that way until just after the break when Romano completed his hat-trick, with Joe Bacon completing the scoring just before the hour in a 5-1 win.

Midweek saw City of Liverpool visit with the game goalless after an hour. Quickfire goals from Cal Hunter and Thomas Romano put LR two goals ahead before Owen Cushion sealed the points late on in a 3-0 win. The good home form continued next with a 4-0 win over Pilkington. Harvey Sample opened the scoring towards the end of the first half with Joe Bacon adding another on the hour. Mark Pearson made it three just five minutes later with Owen Green adding the fourth goal with eight minutes remaining. 

Next was an away game at league leaders Wythenshawe. They trailled early on but levelled through Dave Moore midway through the first half. Wythenshawe took the lead again just before half time with Thomas Romano levelling again midway through the second half. Owen Cushion then put LR ahead for the first time with 15 minutes remaining, and they were denied a win when Wythenshawe levelled four minutes into stoppage time with the game ending 3-3.

That result brought to an end a run of 11 successive victories for LR, but they bounced back in their next game with a 3-1 win at Stockport Town. Joe Bacon opened the scoring on eight minutes with Thomas Romano extending his run of scoring with the second in the 82nd minute. With a minute of normal time remaining, Harvey Sample made it three with Samuel Adegoke scoring a consoltation in stoppage time.

A tricky looking Tuesday night trip to Euxton Villa was next, but the confidence in this LR team is sky high right now and they waltzed to a 5-0 victory. Dave Moore opened the scoring on six minutes before a quick fire double just before the break from Lance Houghton and Jack Wright made it three at the break. Two minutes into the second half, Thomas Romano made it four with Harvey Sample adding the fifth in the last minute of the 90.

Another fine victory came next with a 3-0 win at Chadderton. Thomas Romano opened the scoring on 19 minutes, and it remained that way until five minutes from time when Harvey Sample added another. Isaac Bush scored the third goal four minutes into stoppage time. Never leave an LR game early!

The final game of the month was their fourth successive away win, this time a 3-1 win at FC St Helens. It was another early goal from Joe Bacon that put LR ahead on eight minutes, with Harvey Sample doubling the lead on 17 minutes. Ethan Van-Aston pulled one back for St Helens on 57 minutes, but Sample add a third five minutes later.

Those performances gave LR a whopping 31 points from their 9 games for a 3.44 average.

Their nearest challengers were Prestwich Heys, who actually won all their games in the month, but with six of their seven games at home, they had an average of 3.14. Padiham also did well with six victories from seven games, with Ramsbottom United winning five of their seven games.

First Division North - Droylsden

Club of the Month in the First Division North for February 2026 is Droylsden. This is the second successive month that they have won Club of the Month in the First Division North after picking up the February award. 

They played eight games in the month, winning seven and drawing the other. Two of the wins were against teams from higher leagues, whilst three of their seven wins came on the road.

Their first game in March came in the Manchester Premier Cup with Premier Division side West Didsbury & Chorlton beaten 4-0 at the Butchers Arms. Cody Artwell opened the scoring on 22 minutes with Nellson Van adding a second just before half time. In the first minute of the second half, Artwell grabbed his second of the game to effectively seal the contest, and then completed his hat-trick on 53 minutes.

Next was a tricky looking trip to Bacup Borough with Artwell putting the Bloods ahead just before the break. It remained that way until the last minute when Oliver Hodgson levelled for Bacup. And just when a draw looked probable, up popped Luis Cantello a minute into stoppage time to give Droylsden a 2-1 win.

Artwell's great month continued in the next game, as he opened the scoring at Colne after just two minutes. Jordan Barnett doubled the lead after just 11 minutes with Artwell getting his second in first half stoppage time. There were no further goals with Droylsden winning 3-0.

Maghull at home was next with centre back Emmanuel Udjor Omorogbe scoring his fifth of the season to open the scoring. Harrison Wordon levelled for Maghull on 38 minutes, with substitute Sam Oliver securing the points for Droylsden on 68 minutes.

Another home game followed, this time against Ashton Athletic. Caelan Kilheeney found the net to open the scoring after 10 minutes with Emmanuel Udjor Omorogbe again on target with the second goal five minutes from half time. Kyle Campbell added a third on 54 minutes, with Ashton only able to offer a Adam Gilchrist consolation goal 14 minutes from time.

Perhaps the best performance was next in the Semi Final of the Manchester Premier Cup, with a trip to Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ashton United. Droylsden raced into a two goal lead through Kyle Campbell on 19 minutes and Cody Artwell four minutes later. Mikey O`Neill pulled one back minutes later, with Nellson Van restoring the two goal lead ten minutes into the second half. Despite Darius Osei pulling another back midway through the second half, the Bloods held on to progress to the Final.

A trip to Squires Gate was next, with Droylsden's six game winning run coming to an end as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw. Ryan Talbot had put them ahead on eight minutes only for Dean Ing to level from the penalty spot on 71 minutes.

The final game of the month for Droylsden saw them return to winning ways with a 2-0 home win over Garstang. Ryan Talbot put them ahead after just nine minutes with an Own Goal settling matters with three minutes remaining. 

Those results gave Droylsden 30 points from their 8 games for a 3.75 average. Nelson had six wins, three draws and a loss with MSB Woolton also doing well with three wins and a loss.

First Division South - Runcorn Town

The winner of the Club of the Month in the First Division South for February 2026 are Runcorn Town. This is the fifth monthly award this season for Runcorn and the fourth successive month that they have won this award. Runcorn are just the second club to win four successive Club of the Month awards in the NWCFL.

Runcorn won nine out of ten games in the month, drawing the other. Eight of those wins came away from home, with two of them against teams from higher leagues. This gave them 40 points for the month, which is the most accumulated by any team. They also scored 29 goals and conceded just 7.

March started with a superb victory for Runcorn at National League North side Marine in the Liverpool Senior Cup. Former Tranmere Rovers forward Charlie Jolley opened the scoring for Marine on 22 minutes with a blistering strike, but Runcorn turned the game around in a four minute spell that saw Charlie Harland level before Connor Spiers put them in front. Runcorn held on to progress to the Semi Finals.

A trip to New Mills was next just 48 hours later with Connor Spiers getting the only goal of the game in just the second minute, and that was followed up with a trip to Stafford Town. Runcorn scored three in the first half, with Jamie Apperley's opener on 14 minutes followed up by another quick fire double from Connor Spiers and Charlie Harland midway through the half. Stafford pulled one back through Patryk Mazurkiewicz's penalty five minutes from time with Runcorn running out 3-1 winners.

The road trips continued with a midweek visit to Wolverhampton Casuals, with Liam Kennington putting Runcorn ahead from the penalty spot on 25 minutes. Connor Spiers doubled the lead ten minutes into the second half only for Zachary Campbell-Jackson to pull one back on the hour. Runcorn replied immediately through an own goal from a corner, with the game ending 3-1.

It was then Semi Final day in the Edward Case Cup as Runcorn travelled to Nelson. After a goalless first half that the Admirals had the better of, Connor Spiers put Runcorn ahead four minutes into the second half. Strike partner Matthew Vickers  doubled the lead with 11 minutes remaining to put Runcorn into the Final.

Foley Meir in midweek was next with two goals from Matthew Vickers and one from Thomas Ruffer in the last ten minutes of the first half putting Runcorn in control. They increased the lead through youngster Ethan Mercer's first goal for the club, before Nathan Barry pulled one back with five minutes remaining. Vickers completed his hat-trick with two minutes left to make it five.

Another cup match followed with a trip to Premier Division side Stockport Town. Connor Spiers put them ahead with Terence Benson-Brewer levelling midway through the half. Edward Burthem restored Runcorn's lead on 57 minutes with his first goal for the club, only for Francis Church to level with a stunning 25-yard strike. Ethan Mercer struck the winner with a minute remaining with another long range effort.

A midweek trip to Cammell Laird 1907 was next with Kieran Alley opening the scoring on 38 minutes and then doubling the lead three minutes later. Connor Spiers added a third just after the hour with Runcorn winning 3-0.

After eight successive away games, Runcorn finally had a home game when Cheadle Heath Nomads visited. Runcorn would have won the league with a win, however after 19 successive wins in all competitions, they had to settle for a draw! Thomas Ruffer gave them the perfect start with a goal after just two minutes, with Hal McHugh levelling for Cheadle on 64 minutes. 

Their final game came at home to Alsager Town three days later when the league title was confimed in convincing fashion. Connor Spiers put them ahead after five minutes, before two goals in a minute from Spiers and Kieran Alley made it three after just 20 minutes. Alley added another with ten minutes of the first half to play with Jorge Dwyer increasing the lead five minutes into the second half. It was Gary Robinson who scored the final goal of the game with three minutes of the game left to start the celebrations.

Those results gave Runcorn a whopping 40 points from their 10 games for a 4.0 average.

Eccleshall were their nearest challengers with three wins and three draws, including a superb win at Stafford Rangers in the Staffordshire Senior Cup. Stockport Georgians also had a good month with three wins, two draws and one loss.
