PREMIER DIVISION

The North West Counties League Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month Award for November 2025 has gone to Joe Mason of FC St Helens. Its the third time Joe has won this award, winning it for FC St Helens in October 2022 and August 2023.

Joe began his career at Premier League Champions Liverpool, spending eight years at the club before joining Burscough. Ahead of the 2022/23 season, he moved to FC St Helens and has remained there since, approaching 150 appearances for them despite still being just 20 years old. He has also made appearances in the Northern Premier League for Macclesfield, Bootle and Widnes when their regular goalkeepers were unavailable or injured.

The first game in November for Joe came at Cheadle Town winning 3-0. It sounds routine but Joe was instrumental in keeping a clean sheet in this game, with two vital stops in the first half. He was also aware late on in the game as he again denied Cheadle a goal.

Next up was league leaders Padiham, with two early goals seeing the game end 1-1. Joe was alert late in the first half to cut out a Storks attack to help preserve a vital point.

The third game saw a trip to Glossop North End, with the home side piling on the pressure from the start. Joe made two vital stops early on but was powerless to prevent Glossop's opener on 19 minutes. The Stripes levelled, with Joe keeping his side level on 66 minutes with a superb save from a Djalo strike. That save took on even more importance as the game progressed, with St Helens scoring twice in the last minute to take all three points in a 3-1 win.

Barnoldswick away was next, with St Helens bossing matters before conceding a penalty on 18 minutes. Joe stood tall and saved the penalty to keep the game goalless, with his side soon taking the lead. Joe pulled off a fine stop before the break, tipping wide a goalbound effort, and made another low save at the start of the second half. He could do nothing to prevent Barlick's equaliser, a header at the back post, with the game ending 1-1.

The final game saw Litherland REMYCA visit, with FC St Helens running out 1-0 winners, giving Joe his second clean sheet of the month. He made two key stops early on as Litherland started well, and marshalled his side late on as the visitors pressed for an equaliser.

Five games in the month for Joe, with two clean sheets and just three goals conceded.

Congratulations to Joe on his Award!

FIRST DIVISION NORTH

The Goalkeeper of the Month award for the First Division North for November 2025 has gone to Bradley Emmerson of Steeton. This is the second time that he has won this award for Steeton having picked in up in December 2024, and the fourth time a Steeton keeper has won it.

Emmerson played largely in the Northern Counties East League with Albion Sports and Eccleshill United before switching to the NWCFL in 2021/22 when he joined Campion. He remained with the club when they were laterally moved to the NCEL the following season, helping the Manningham based outfit to a famous double in 2022/23 in which they won the NCEL First Division and the West Riding County Cup. He moved to Steeton in October 2024 after an injury to James Catlow, and has gone on to make 39 appearances for the club since his arrival.

November started with a trip to AFC Blackpool, with Emmerson keeping his side in the game on 34 minutes when he tipped a goalbound effort onto the crossbar. He made another vital stop at the start of the second half from a header, but was powerless to stop AFC Blackpool taking the lead with another header minutes later. The game finished 1-0 to the Mechanics.

Next was a home game against Daisy Hill at Marley Stadium, with Emmerson again making a key stop on 24 minutes when he denied Ntumba Massanka with a a one-on-one. Towards the end of the half he twice denied Liam Sheppard, with Daisy Hill opening the scoring at the start of the second half. Steeton grabbed a point with an equaliser five minutes from time.

The third game was a trip to Squires Gate with the home side taking an early lead. It should have been two at the start of the second half but for a superb save on his line by Emmerson, and he was rewarded just after the hour as Steeton equalised. Gate grabbed a late winner with a goalline scramble with the game ending 2-1.

The final game for Steeton was a midweek trip to MSB Woolton. Steeton led 1-0 from a 39th minute goal from Lewis Gartland, but Emmerson had little to do in this game. That is until the 89th minute when Woolton found themselves through on goal, with Emmerson making a superb stop, diverting a goalbound effort onto the crossbar before clearing to keep his clean sheet.

Four games played, four goals conceded with a fourth clean sheet of the season kept.

Well done Brad!

FIRST DIVISION SOUTH

The winner of the November 2025 Goalkeeper of the Month Award for the First Division South is Adam Whitehouse of Eccleshall.

Adam played more than 200 times for the Stafford Rangers after first joining the club in 2014, and was part of the Stafford side that won the 2015/16 Northern Premier League First Division South. After leaving Stafford, he played for Boldmere St. Michaels and Rushall Olympic before moving to Hanley Town and then Newcastle Town. He joined Eccleshall on dual-registration forms in October from Newcastle.

The first game for Eccleshall in the month was at Wolverhampton Casuals with Eccleshall taking a 34th minute lead. He could do nothing to stop Alex Coster's close range header for the equaliser just before half time, but made several key stops in the second half which allowed the Eagles to see out a 3-1 win.

Next was Abbey Hulton United at home in the Staffordshire Cup. Against their higher ranked opponents, Eccleshall ran out 3-0 winners with Adam keeping his second clean sheet in the five games he had played for the club. Two soon became three with another clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Ashville.

The fourth game of the month saw Eccleshall with another fine win as they won 3-0 at Barnton. It brought a third successive clean sheet for Adam, and his fourth in just the seven games he had played for the club.

The final game was a 6-2 win at home to Haughmond.

Five games played for Adam last month, with three clean sheets and just three goals conceded. Eccleshall have also yet to lose when he has played!

Congratulations Adam!
