Ray Barnett has stepped down as joint manager of Maine Road, with Guy Heffernan moving into the assistant manager's role to accompany Rees Welsh in the dugout.
Barnett, whose final game as joint gaffer was an entertaining but frustrating 3-3 draw with Cheadle Town, will remain on the committee at Brantingham Road and continue his work behind the scenes.
Former Blackpool defender Heffernan's first game as assistant will be a difficult trip to local rivals Wythenshawe Amateurs on Saturday.
