At Vauxhall Motors' home game against Sandbach United on Tuesday evening, League Chairman Paul Lawler was on hand to present midfielder Glen Rule with his Macron Player of the Month award for January 2020.

Here is a reminder of why Glen won the January award:

Runcorn

Town captain Shaun Weaver is the Premier Division Player of the Month for January after a stunning month for the Premier Division side.

Vauxhall Motors midfielder Glenn Rule is the First Division South Player of the Month for January, the former Chester midfielder having a majestic January and perhaps his best month since joining the Motormen.

Glenn was a pivotal figure in both of Vauxhall's wins against Abbey Hey and Abbey Hulton United, as they fought back from being 2-1 down. He was also instrumental in their hard fought victory at Stockport Town in the middle of the month, gaining a penalty for his side to square the game at 2-2 before playing a superb through ball for Michael Burkey to clinch a fine 3-2 away success with a perfect lob.

However that performance palled into insignificance compared to his performance at Stalybridge Celtic just three days later - Glenn simply ran the show from start to finish as the Motormen cruised to a magnificent 1-0 away win in the Cheshire Senior Cup against a side three divisions higher in the pyramid.

Glenn finished the month as one of the few players to come out of our defeat to Wythenshawe Town with any credit, as he tried desperately to haul us back into the match after going 2-0 down.

Congratulations to Glen on winning this award.
