St Helens Town, in conjunction with club's Youth Section are pleased to announce the re-formation of the St Helens Town Reserves team.

The team, which will play in the St Helens Football Combination Premier Division, will be run and administered by the Youth Section, with the focus being on developing players coming through the ranks and providing an exit route for Under 16s players into adult football.

The club's long term view is that the team will be run with 17-24 year olds, however over the next few seasons it may have a good mixture of older players that can bring experience to pitch while the transition period commences. The team will be managed by Nick Robinson with Steve Leather, Head of Youth, supporting him on the side lines and in training.

Town Chairman John McKiernan said, This is a great way of developing the talent in the club's junior ranks, and will provide some natural progression for players who want to continue to play for the club with the ultimate aim for first team football.

Having had to relinquish the Reserves last season because of our departure from Knowsley Road, it's great to have them back and it will strengthen the link between the senior squad and the youngsters and staff in our youth section.”

The Reserves are on the look out for a goal keeper and players aged 16-24 looking for a positive future within football.  Anyone interested should contact Steve Leather on 07788 762336 for a trial.
