Premier Division - Wythenshawe
Winning the Premier Division award for December 2025 is Wythenshawe. This is their first monthly award since winning the First Division South version in March 2023, and their first in the Premier Division.
West have had a superb month, with four wins from four in the league propelling them to the top of the Premier Division. Three of the four wins came on the road, and in the four games they scored ten goals and conceded just two.
The first game in December was a 2-0 win at home to fellow promotion condenders Ramsbottom United. After a close and goalless first half, Princewill Anuniru opened the scoring on 51 minutes before Eoin Charles added a second just seven minutes later. Wythenshawe saw out the 2-0 win to claim all three points.
West then travelled to City of Liverpool midweek, and returned to Manchester with another three points in the bag after a 2-1 win. They started off the scoring even earlier in this game with Sandro Da Costa putting them ahead inside four minutes. Princewill Anuniru then added a second just before the half hour and that's how it stayed until the Purps found the net on 81 minutes. Again though they saw out the game to claim the win.
They returned once more to Merseyside on the Saturday, and claimed another three points thanks to a 5-1 win. Aaron Dwyer put them ahead before the Reds levelled from the spot on 24 minutes. Princewill Anuniru restored the lead just before the half hour, before another Dwyer goal plus one from Fraser Goodwin in stoppage time made it 4-1 at the break. William Calligan added the fifth just after the restart, with Wythenshawe seeing out the game comfortably.
The thiird successive away win came at another promotion contendor in West Didsbury & Chorlton. This saw yet another clean sheet but it was a single goal that sealed the tie, with Joshua Dickin getting the only goal after just ten minutes.
Those performances gave West 15 points from their 4 games for a 3.75 average.
Atherton LR also did well in December with three wins and a draw, with Glossop North End and Longridge Town both having good months also
Total Games played in the Month: 4
Total Points won in the Month: 15
Average: 3.75
First Division North - Nelson
Club of the Month in the First Division North for an unprecedented fourth successive month is Nelson.
We hold records online going back ten seasons, and no other side in any division of the league in this time has managed four successive Club of the Month wins. It is possible that it has happened before, but we will have to trawl back through the paper archives to look at that (a job for Jeff Voller to do in the summer!)
Nelson played four games in the month, winning three and drawing the other, with one of their wins coming at the expense of a higher ranked side for the third month running.
Their first game in December came with a midweek away trip to Squires Gate. Ben Fyles put them ahead on 28 minutes, but it looked like being all square at half time when Squires Gate equalised in stoppage time. However Nelson went straight down the other end from kick off with Jamie Edwards restoring the lead. Fyles scored his second of the game on 72 minutes to give the Admirals a 3-1 win.
Four days later and another tie for Nelson against higher opposition, this time an away game at the home of one of the Premier Division leading sides Ramsbottom United in the Isuzu FA Vase. Nelson stunned their hosts by adapting better to the truly awful conditions in this game, with second half goals from Ryan Bolton, Finley Devenney (a penalty) and James Kemp giving them a stunning 3-0 win. This was the fourth win over a side ina higher league than them this season!
Nelson returned to league duty on the Wednesday night with an away game at MSB Woolton, with Andrew Procter putting them ahead on 33 minutes. They were denied all three points in this game by a Woolton goal three minutes into stoppage time when Ethan Danku scored a penalty. It was a similar story in the next game as they drew 2-2 at home to Droylsden. Twice they led with goals from Max Cane and Jack Doherty in the first half either side of an own goal, but they were again denied three minutes into stoppage time with an equaliser.
The fifth game of December for Nelson was a home game against Holker Old Boys, and they fell behind early on. Max Cane levelled matters just before the break and that's how it stayed until six minutes from time when Alex Green put Nelson ahead. They added a third in stoppage time through Cane to win 3-1.
Two days before Christmas, they bowed out of the Edward Case Cup after a 3-2 home loss to Daisy Hill. Jude Entwistle and Ben Fyles got their goals but it was not enough on the day. On Boxing Day though came their seventh game of the month, a 2-0 away win at Darwen with Max Cane scoring both in the first half.
Those results gave them a 19 points from their 7 games for a 2.71 average.
This was enough to see them just edge out MSB Woolton who were their closest challengers with four wins and two draws. Thornton Cleveleys also had a good month with two wins and two draws, as did a resurgent Squires Gate.
Total Games played in the Month: 7
Total Points won in the Month: 19
Average: 2.71
First Division South - Runcorn Town
The winner of the Club of the Month in the First Division South for December are Runcorn Town. This is the second monthly award this season for Runcorn, who continue to set the pace at the top of the division after a 100% record in the league in the month.
Runcorn played just three games in the month, with the first being a midweek trip to Wolverhampton Sporting Community. Shaquille Lewys opened the scoring for Runcorn with Wolves quickly levelling. Thomas Ruffer restored the lead on 25 minutes only for Wolves to again level on the half hour. In a thrilling first half, it was Runcorn who went into half time a goal ahead as Liam Kennington's penalty once again gave them the lead. The win was wrapped up in the second half with Lewys getting his second of the game.
The next two games at New Mills and at home to Stockport Georgians were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches, so next up was a top of the table clash at home to second placed Eccleshall. It was the Staffordshire side who settled quickly and after just 14 minutes they found themselves 2-0 up. However Runcorn hit back with two goals from Matthew Vickers before the half hour, with Sam Flower putting Runcorn ahead on 37 minutes. Eccleshall showed why they are so high in the table with an equaliser at the start of the second half, only for Flower to hit the winner with his second of the game with nine minutes to go.
Once again Runcorn saw a postponed game with their midweek trip to Wolverhampton Casuals postponed, so the final game of the month for them came on Boxing Day at Barnton. In a close game, Liam Kennington put them ahead from the penalty spot after 56 minutes before Jamie Alty added a second on 69 minutes to give them a 2-0 win.
That gave Runcorn 11 points from their 3 games for a 3.67 average.
Telford Town were their nearest challengers with three wins and two draws, with Stockport Georgians recording two wins and two draws.

Congratulations to all of the winners in December.
