Fri 5th September 2025 | Announcements | By Martin Fallon
In advance of the announcement of the first PST Sport Club of the Month award winners tomorrow, we publish below a reminder of how the results are calculated.
The Club of the Month awards for all three divisions are calculated using a points system for each game played by a club during the month, and is as follows.
Away win against a team from a higher division – 6 points
Home win against a team from a higher division – 5 points
Away draw against a team from a higher division – 3 points
Home draw against a team from a higher division – 2 points
Away defeat against a team from a higher division – 0 points
Home defeat against a team from a higher division – 0 points
Away win against a team from the same division – 4 points
Home win against a team from the same division – 3 points
Away draw against a team from the same division – 2 points
Home draw against a team from the same division – 1 point
Away defeat against a team from the same division – 0 points
Home defeat against a team from the same division – minus 1 point
Away win against a team from a lower division – 3 points
Home win against a team from a lower division – 2 points
Away draw against a team from a lower division – 1 point
Home draw against a team from a lower division – minus 1 point
Away defeat against a team from a lower division – minus 1 point
Home defeat against a team from a lower division – minus 2 points
When cup ties end in a draw and are decided on a penalty shoot out, the result used in the calculations will be the drawn game - a penalty shoot out win or defeat will not be used as a win or defeat in the calculations.
Once the points total has been accumulated, the total is divided by the number of games to arrive at the final figure used to identify the winner.
A club must play a minimum of three games during a month to qualify for the award.
In the event that there is a tie between clubs, the final decision regarding the award shall be at the discretion of the League Management Committee.
Once a winning club has been nominated using the above procedure, the award can be withdrawn at the discretion of the League Management Committee if the club has had disciplinary action taken against them during the course of the month in question.
The above criteria was last confirmed by the League Management Committee at their meeting held on 10th September 2014, and circulated to all Member Clubs in the minutes of that meeting.
