After a busy month, despite the weather, the nominations from clubs for the Reusch Goalkeeper of the month have been strong.  Many clubs who have progressed in their respective Divisions over the last month or so have cited their Goalkeeper as a key reason for their progress which has what's made this month a particularly tough one to call.  However, the winners of the Reusch Goalkeeper of the Month awards for October 2023 are as follows:

Premier Division - Harry Wright (Bury)

Games Played: 3
MoM Nomination: 1
Clean Sheets: 3
Conceded: 0

Reason: Harry has been a great new signing adding a bit of stability to the backline and competition for Jack Atkinson. In the 6 league games played in October, the Shakers have kept 4 clean sheets. New signing, Harry had a baptism of fire against a strong Wythenshawe Town, which saw the Shakers come out on top with a 4-0 victory. Harry's second game was against a well set-up and determined Squires Gate, which saw Harry keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory.

The final game of the month a tough test away at West Didsbury & Chorlton. After a cagey opening 29 minutes, the Shakers took the lead on the 30th minute, 3 minutes later WD&C were awarded a penalty. A well struck penalty heading towards the bottom right hand corner of the goal. Harry was up to the effort and turned it round the post to preserve his clean sheet record for the month and the Shakers came out on top with a 3-0 victory

Well done Harry!

First Division North - Oliver Lombard (Darwen)

Games Played: 6
MoM Nomination: 0
Clean Sheets: 1
Conceded: 5

Reason: As a result of a string of excellent saves by Oliver, Darwen, have been unbeaten in the league in October. Despite being beaten by Heaton Stannington in the FA Vase no blame could be attributed to Oliver as goals resulted as a result of our teams defensive errors.  However, that said, Darwen's good form has been backed up by the recent performances from the back and Oliver rightly wins the plaudits - and the award from Reusch this month.

Well done Oliver!

First Division South - Michael Dixon (Ashville)

Games Played: 5
MoM Nomination: 2
Clean Sheets: 1
Conceded: 6

Reason: Mikey has had another solid month between the sticks, pulling of some unbelievable safes and he was outstanding in both penalty shoot out saving two pens over both games and seeing us push on in both games. That's another League visit to Ashville coming up, a club that are rightly winning all of the plaudits at the moment.

Well done Michael!
