The midweek action in the NWCFL kicked-off on Tuesday night with seven fixtures across the Emirates FA Cup, First Division North and South.

After their 2-2 draw on Saturday, Northwich Victoria travelled to Silsden in the Emirates FA Cup Extra-Preliminary Round Replay and came back with a superb 4-3 victory. Initially, after going 3-0 up, they survived a fightback before a 86th minute John Connolly winner.

Whilst 182 miles away in Hereford, Congleton Town faced Hellenic Premier Division side Westfields and suffered a 4-1 defeat, Aiden Thomas bagging four goals for the Hereford based side.

First Division North saw two games, AFC Blackpool securing a 2-1 away win away at Nelson, whilst Steeton and Lower Breck battled out a 1-1 draw.

In the Southern section of the NWCFL, three fixtures saw wins for Vauxhall Motors, West Didsbury & Chorlton and Abbey Hey. Vauxhall ran out 8-0 winners, the biggest win of the season to date against New Mills, whilst it was a narrow 1-0 victory for West over Stockport Town, and Abbey defeated Wythenshawe Amateurs 5-2.

The midweek action concluded on Wednesday with just two fixtures. Skelmersdale United travelled to Penistone Church in the FA Cup and was delighted with a 5-2 win in front of 256.

Finally, AFC Liverpool moved up to 11th in the standings with a narrow 2-1 win over Garstang.

The action returns on Saturday for a full programme of games.
