Karl Joins Town 200 Club

Runcorn Town goalkeeper Karl Wills has become the latest player to join Town's 200 Club.
The keeper made his 200th competitive appearance in the 4-1 victory at Squires Gate two weeks ago, just short of six years after he made his debut for the club.
After starting his career at Crewe Alexandra, Karl signed for the club from Warrington Town shortly after Nick Armitage took over as manager, and made his debut on 1st December 2007 at Heswall in a West Cheshire League match.
In the team that day were current team mates Danny Dalton, Ian Robinson, James McShane plus manager Simon Burton, along with Reserve team player Paul Illidge, Michael Boyle who is now at Ashton Town and Ryan Broadhead who is now at Alsager Town.
In his 200 games he has kept 68 clean sheets, which is a better than one-in-three ratio. He also has a decent penalty record having faced 24 penalties in total. Of these he has saved nine with two missed against him. This is competitive games only, so not included in these stats are penalty saves in friendly matches where he has saved all three he has faced!
Speaking of records, Karl is currently setting a club record each game he plays, with the game against Winsford United last weekend in the FA Vase being his 111th consecutive appearance, a sequence stretching back to November 2010.
Karl becomes only the third player to play over 200 games for the club. The other two are current team mates Danny Dalton (219) and Ste Latham (209). For completion, the following players are also members of our 100 club with over 100 appearances to their name:
