There were twenty-four goals scored across the five ties in the Edward Case Cup Preliminary Round as both MSB Woolton and Telford Town secured big wins on their NWCFL cup debuts.

Fulwood Amateurs also put Steeton to the sword late on whilst Foley Meir beat Allscott Heath in a five-goal thriller.

North Section

It was glory for the newly-promoted clubs against their more established Step 6 rivals in the North Section. Tuesday saw Fulwood Amateurs make a second trip to Steeton's Marley Stadium in as many months, and whilst they kept another clean sheet against the 'Chevvies' they were far more potent in attack this time around. James Bell scored a spot kick on the stroke of half time to put the 'Ams' in the driving seat and despite the hosts throwing the kitchen sink at the Fulwood rearguard after the break, Phil Blackwell's side held firm and pounced late on to double their advantage when Mohammed Rezaei slotted home from three yards out with two minutes left to play. Whilst the tie was over as a contest, the visitors capped off a complete away performance with a third goal in the fourth minute of time added on, this one from substitute Jonty MacDonald.

The other Northern tie was on Wednesday evening and this one featured the new boys at home - MSB Woolton welcoming Garstang to Jericho Lane. It was the 'Stang' that took the lead early doors, Matthew Casson getting his name on the scoresheet with 13 minutes gone. The tourists maintained that lead for much of the half but Oghenetega Okeregha levelled for the Liverpudlians on 38 minutes and the two sides went into the break level. It was all one-way traffic after that though and once Daniel Ventre put MSB in front six minutes into the half there was only one winner. Joe Harvey extended the lead with less than 15 minutes to go and further strikes from Lucas Wilson and Adam Keane completed the rout and the 'Woo' are rewarded with a trip to Nelson in Round 1.

South Section

Tuesday night's action in the South section saw the two closest ties of the round. Foley Meir saw off Allscott Heath by the odd goal in five to set up a home clash with Stockport Georgians. Nathan Barry put Foley in front on the half hour mark but Ryan Knott levelled for the visiting 'Monners' just eight minutes later. If that was considered a swift reply then Will Saxon wasted no time restoring his side's advantage two minutes after the equaliser. Steven Hole again restored parity within a minute of the second half kicking off but Nathan Barry was on hand AGAIN to give the side from Stoke the lead for the third time in the match. The goals dried up from there though and Mark Lawton's charges held firm to book their place in the next round.

The other fixture wasn't as close; Wolverhampton Sporting Community put in a solid away performance to see off Shawbury United in the battle between last season's bottom two. Isaac Phillips scored twice in the first half before Bobby Speed added a third on 50 minutes. Shawbury did grab a consolation through Eric Mensah with 15 minutes left on the clock but the damage had already been done. Wolves Sporting will welcome Barnton to Pride Park in Round 1.

The final tie of the round was the biggest win of all - Telford Town followed their 3-0 win over Haughmond in the league last month with a crushing 6-0 demolition this time round at the DRM Aggregate Arena. Eshan Greer grabbed himself a hat-trick after an own goal opened the floodgates and the 'Academicals' back line crumbled. Alex Hughes and Joe Care also notched for the 'Ams' as Matthew Boswell's table-toppers made it four wins from four on home soil so far this term.
