World Sport Focus's Owner and Journalist, Steven Oldham (@spoldham) has taken a look at the weekends Division One games and the various permutations that happened across a rain effected weekend. Steve has analysed all of the games, highlights and early eye catching results as he casts his eye across the latest match developments.

It was a busy day in the First Division North, with all fixtures surviving the bad weather and three sides moving onto maximum points from three straight wins, but more on them later. It was a good day for Ashton Athletic, who halted Route One Rovers' early progress winning 3-2 at Brocstedes Park and in doing so picked up their first victory of the season. The sides went into the break level after Musa Jallow cancelled out Zach Conway's opener for relegated Athletic.

The home side soon found themselves 3-1 up through Deklan Hill and Kyle King, with some nerves undoubtedly jangling as Jallow found his second of the day five minutes from time. It wasn't to be for the division's new boys this time, and Ashton held on to pick up three points.

Shelley were 1-0 winners at AFC Blackpool, and took all three points back to Yorkshire thanks to Cyrus Rowe's goal five minutes from time. This already looks like an important win for Shelley, who like their opponents came into the game on zero points. It's back to the drawing board for The Mechanics, who finished in the top half last season.

Bacup Borough and Runcorn Town put on the game of the day at West View, with visitors Runcorn winning by the odd goal in seven in a topsy-turvy game that saw five goals in the opening 45 minutes. Neil Weaver scored the fourth and deciding goal for Runcorn, although Bacup left them sweating with Connor Morris netting his second of the game with eight minutes left on the clock.

Ten-man Atherton Laburnum Rovers sit atop the table in its formative state after another win, this time overcoming Nelson at Little Wembley despite George Chadwick's first half red card. Teal Amos had given Nelson the half time lead, but Jack Flight's brace was enough for his side to take all three points.

Another side with nine points is Euxton Villa, who are only kept off the top spot on goals scored. Villa were 2-1 winners over Holker Old Boys and did the damage in the first 26 minutes with goals from Dan Singleton and Patrik Bibby. Dylan Ellis scored a consolation for the visitors midway through the second half.

FC St Helens kept their own winning streak alive with a 2-1 victory over Daisy Hill at New Sirs. Harris Saunders opened the scoring for the Merseyside club, with Ryan Talbot briefly bringing parity in the second half before Steve Ashton's goal killed the game off before the hour mark.

Steeton notched up back-to-back wins with a 2-1 defeat of Darwen at The Marley Stadium. All the goals came in the second half, with Emmanuel Amole netting the winner five minutes from time.

A Charlie Glennon hat-trick gave South Liverpool a 3-0 victory over Garstang, who have yet to score a point. Ilkley Town were 2-0 winners over Ashton Town, who are another side with three losses to their name. Joseph Edmonds and Tom Smith were on target in the first half.

Meanwhile, the wonderful British summer weather impacted the First Division South fixture list this weekend with three games cancelled due to waterlogged pitches, those games were Abbey Hulton Utd Vs Market Drayton Town, Ashville Vs Sandbach and Winsford United Vs Droylsden.  Despite the loss of thise fixtures there was still action to be found elsewhere.

Abbey Hey are top of the fledging table having taken a point in a 1-1 draw at Eccleshall - with both teams remaining unbeaten so far. The Staffordshire side took the lead through Jordan Benton's early penalty, but Danny Warburton levelled the scores just before the hour mark to help his team take a point.

Maine Road are second only on goal difference after a late 2-1 win over Barnton at Brantingham Road. James Perry gave the home side the half time lead with his goal on 20 minutes, with Harvey Woodhouse bringing the visitors back into the game five minutes into the second half. Supersub Yasir Alim won it for Maine Road with a minute left on the clock.

Stockport Town are third having won both of their league games - but tasted defeat in the FA Cup this weekend - and are next in action on Monday night at home to Maine Road.

Stockport Georgians picked up a first win of the season with a 3-0 home triumph over Stafford Town at Cromley Road. Sam Hind opened the scoring after 22 minutes, and Georgians went in two to the good thanks to Kyle Wych's penalty. Wych was on target again in the second half to seal a strong win for Andy Jenkins's side.

Cammell Laird 1907 rescued a point with two goals in the last ten minutes at Alsager Town in a game that ended 3-3. The visitors had taken the lead through James Eaton early on, but Alsager looked in control after going 3-1 up past the hour mark through Kallam Boyle, Sean Tierney and Thomas Hassall. However, Jay Harvey pulled one back before Matthew Beaman's dramatic equaliser in the final minute.

The day's highest attendance in the division was to be found at Cheadle Heath Nomads as 123 took in a 2-2 draw with New Mills. This result leaves both sides still awaiting their first win and fittingly both have two points on the board.

Four goals in the second half made up for none in the first, with New Mills twice taking the lead through Joel Ankers and Chris Rogers, but they were pegged back each time by Loui Williams and Max Pouncey.

That concludes the review of the weekends Division one games.  A big thank you to Steve for taking a look at the games for us and you can catch Steve at worldsportfocus.wordpress.com or on twitter @spoldham
