Winsford United will carry out development work at the Barton Stadium during July with a bit of help from employees of energy giant E-On.
E-On’s Local Team Leader, Neil Price, has been holding his free to the public karate classes at the club for several years now, and thought it would be a great community project for the company he works for to get involved in.
Winsford’s Assistant Secretary Steve Wright explained: “The main advantage to the overall project will be the upgrade of the floodlights, where E-On has kindly offered to supply new lamps to replace the failing old ones.
“Other planned improvements to be carried out with the assistance of E-On will be the complete refurbishment of the toilet block on the Kingsway side of the ground, together with a fully refurbished First Aid Suite in the Clubhouse, complete with Defibrillator.
"Over 20 male and female staff working for E-On Combined Heat and Power (CHP), from several areas across the UK, are offering to carry out this work on July 10th 2013.
“The team will be providing both manual labour and the building materials to paint, plaster, install fencing, general woodwork, brickwork etc. Because of this we need to do as much preparation as possible so we are appealing to supporters to come down and help with this aspect of the work. More information will be given nearer the date”.
