Keigan Parker Joins AFC Blackpool

AFC Blackpool have signed former Blackpool FC and Scottish Under 21 international Keigan Parker.
Parker, who was the first signing made by then Blackpool manager Colin Hendry, made 141 appearances during a four year spell at Bloomfield Road after joining them from St Johnstone where he won four Under 21 caps for Scotland. He has since had spells at Huddersfield Town, Hartlepool United, Oldham Athletic, Bury and Mansfield Town, and was on loan at Fleetwood Town last season.
He is currently without a club after a spell at Stockport County, and his move to the Mechanics suits both parties, as Seasiders' manager Stuart Parker explained.
"We have Martin Bird suspended for the next few games and needed to bolster the squad, so when we heard Keigan was available we got in touch with him. We know clubs are interested in him, but he has trained with us and now he just needs games to help to put himself in the shop window.
So it's a deal that suits everyone, as he will get game time with us and we will get the benefit of having a player of his experience.
He will be included in our squad for our FA Cup tie against AFC Fylde on Saturday, and we are all looking forward to working with him.”
