Bacup Borough manager Brent Peters has swooped to secure the signing of top goalscorer Tommy Turner.

Tommy returns to play under his former manager after leaving West View at the start of the 2009/10 season to join New Mills, where he scored thirty two goals in thirty two League and Cup Games.

He moved to Evo Stik League side Trafford at the start of this season, and then moved to another of his former clubs Salford City, before being tempted back to Bacup.

With Bacup currently lying sixth in the Vodkat League Premier Division, still due to play the top teams in the league twice, and a tie against Winsford United in the Challenge Cup Competition all up and coming in the next few weeks, Bacup manager Brent Peters believes his new signing will be a big asset to the club.

Brent said: "Tommy Turner coming back to Bacup Borough is a massive boost for the entire squad, at the business end of the football season.

"Tommy is an excellent striker with a proven pedigree in the Vodkat League Premier Division.  Here at Bacup we have a squad of young talented footballers, and the experience that Tommy will bring to our young squad in addition to captain Davey Luker and goalkeeper Paul Horridge will be invaluable."
