Cheadle Town 4-2 Wythenshawe Amateurs

Cheadle Town manager Liam Brownhill, "First half today we were poor didn’t get going. I and Meads got into them at half time to step up to the level we have set ourselves and us.

"I always knew when we turned up we would come out on top. This team has something special. We’re taking a game at a time so roll on Wednesday against Abbey Hey."

Wythenshawe Town 4-1 Cheadle Heath Nomads

Wythenshawe Town manager James Kinsey, "We mixed the team up drastically today. Our hand was forced as we had ten missing through injury, suspension or being cup-tied. But the lads stepped up. I thought the first half was quite even on the whole and we started slowly.

"But second half we were dominant in my opinion. We never felt threatened through the second half. We are happy to be in another quarter-final."

Cheadle Heath Nomads manager Andy Gray, "We went to Wythenshawe knowing we'd have to battle to get anything out of the game and took the opportunity to change a few players with it being a cup game. Got off to a great start scoring in the first couple of minutes through Rick Tindall. But even with the changes, we looked leggy after the game in midweek and by half time we were 2-1 down following some good work by them for the first but poor marking for us on the second.

"It was a quality finish to be fair It wasn't a great game of football as both teams were struggling to find real quality but poor marking on a crossed ball let them get an easy third and from there we were chasing it. We tried to apply a bit of pressure but it was too little too late.

"When we hit the post with about 10 left we kind of knew it wasn't to be our day. A late penalty for them made the score look more decisive than it was but they deserved the win and good luck to them in the next round."

St Helens Town 1-2 West Didsbury & Chorlton

St Helens Town manager David Platt, "Massively proud of my lads today playing against a top side in West Didsbury and Chorlton. We had five lads up from the reserves and despite the step up, we pushed them the whole way. I felt we should have been playing 10 men from halfway through the first half for an awful tackle from behind that eventually saw our lad subbed as his back was suffering after the tackle.

"Despite this, we played some good stuff but eventually the class of the opposition told and we were beaten 2-1. As far as our development goes it's a massive plus that we can be competitive in games against this level of opposition and we are determined to take this form into the league over the next few months. Good luck to West Didsbury and Chorlton in the next round of the cup - a good team on and off the pitch."

FC Oswestry Town 0-1 Lower Breck

Lower Breck manager Gary Moore, "A hard-fought win that today to wrap up a tough week with four wins in seven days. I thought we controlled the game well for large parts but we weren't at our best with the ball and with both keepers rarely tested with the end product from both sides lacking.

"It was a game that one goal was always going to win and we managed to grab it late on. Its been a tough week with playing four games with a bare squad (until today) and we're delighted to come through it unscathed."

Wirral Senior Cup 2nd Round

Cammell Laird 1907 2-0 Ellesmere Port Town

Cammell Laird 1907 manager Phil Burton, "It was a very good, controlled game against a very good team who are doing well in their respective league. We managed the game well and were patience in our approach. Had some great chances towards the end to affect the scoreline more. But overall delighted to reach semi-finals."
