Last Thursday, representatives from Newcastle Town went to the local Council's Civic Offices to pick up two awards presented by the Mayor.

The First Team were represented by manager Greg Clowes, skipper Paul Donnelly, Secretary Ray Tatton and Commercial Manager Geoff Eccleston as they were presented with Newcastle-Under-Lyme Borough Council Sports Council's Award for Team of the Year, for services to sport in the Borough.

The Youth Team finished third in the competition, and were represented by Secretary Neil Dundas, and Managers Rob Ryles and John Diskin to pick up the award.

That was not the end - the Under 15s did the League and Cup double winning every game (their League Record is Played 20 Won 20 Scored 168 Conceded 10 an even better record than the First Team) and the Under 14s won their League Cup.

So it looks as though the club's dream of producing its own players is turning to reality, with these two sides and the youngsters who have done so well in the Youth Team and Reserves beginning to make their mark.
