Saturday 10th August 2019 at 16:18 will be etched long into the memory of Longridge Town striker Paul Turner as he not only slotted home the ball to secure his sides first ever win in the Emirates FA Cup - but also meant he would be taking the ball home with home as it was the third goal of the afternoon for the 22-year-old.

"It was special for the town and club because it’s come a long way in a short space of time back to back promotions and the FA Cup being there as well topped it off with winning the game too. To score a hat-trick in any game is good but in the FA Cup is a dream come true something not a lot players can say so it was a very good day. Won one lost one so far in the league.

The former Bolton Wanderers youngster is now into his second season with Lee Ashcroft at the helm, and having won the NWCFL First Division North at the first attempt the last term, Turner has been pleased with their start, "Yeah it’s been a good start possibly should of got something at Irlam with the way we played, but it’s a learning curve for us all a new division and plenty of games to play yet.

"It’s a great group of lads experienced and youth and Ashey and Keiran get the best out of each player so should be a good season!"

Longridge's win sees them set up an Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round game with fellow NWCFL side Charnock Richard on Saturday 24th August, with a 3:00 pm kick-off.
