Last Tuesday evening's Liverpool County FA Senior Cup tie between St Helens Town and Skelmersdale United may have ended in an extra time 3-2 victory for Town, but one lucky Skem fan picked up a great prize in the Johnsons Toyota Liverpool sponsored half time 'Cross Bar Challenge'.

Alan Dowell was one of six lucky spectators who made it through to the 'free' half time event having collected a winning ticket as he made it through the turnstiles at Edge Green Street.  Each participant had two opportunities to hit the cross bar from the edge of the penalty spot and deputising for Alan was Hayden Brimage (a fellow Skem supporter) who was the only 'player' to hit the target!!

Alan wins a 'weekend for two' courtesy of Johnsons and The Vincent Hotel in Southport which includes top-of-the-range Toyota car for the weekend, overnight luxury accommodation, valet parking, an evening meal and full English breakfast.

Town Chairman John McKiernan said, "It was a good bit of fun and despite the bitter cold evening and the draw of a hot drink in a warm clubhouse, a good vocal crowd watched throughout."

"Hopefully Alan will enjoy his prize and it will take the edge of the defeat!"

"Our thanks must again go to Johnsons Toyota Liverpool who continues to come up with a range of fantastic opportunities in their support of the club."

Gareth Shone, General Sales Manager at Johnsons Toyota Liverpool said, "We had originally offered the prize for Town's final home game at Knowsley Road but when the game was pulled at the eleventh hour the Skem game seemed an excellent alternative."
