A 3-0 victory for Litherland REMYCA over Congleton Town lifted Phil Stafford's team off the bottom of the NWCFL Premier Division on an afternoon marred by Storm Jorge - who decimated the fixture list.

George Donnelly and David Crist gave REMYCA a 2-0 lead at the break in front of 76 spectators. James Murphy added a third, gifting the Liverpool side their second win of the month.

Elsewhere, Skelmersdale United came from behind against high-flying Bootle, securing a 2-1 victory. Carl Peers initially put Joe Doran's side in front but two goals in two minutes turned the tie on its head.

Two first-half goals for Burscough from Chris Lomax and Kevin Pollard helped Nick Matthews side to a 2-1 victory against Squires Gate. James Boyd grabbed a late goal for the visitors but it wasn't enough as the win moved them four points away from the relegation zone.

In the First Division North, leaders Lower Breck and Daisy Hill had a real ding-dong battle with the visitors eventually coming from behind at the break to win 4-3.

Jamie Ramwell put Daisy Hill in front on three minutes, then they doubled their lead moments after the break, through Tyler Rufus. Then Breck scored twice in four minutes to level up the game before Ramwell bagged his second of the afternoon for Brian Hart's side to re-take the lead.

Liam Morris then levelled the tied up against, before Stephen Milne rounded off a day to remember, scoring his third of the afternoon with just eight minutes remaining.

Prestwich Heys moved up to sixth in the standings following a 3-1 victory over St Helens Town, and in the final game of the day, Shelley edged closer to third place AFC Liverpool with a goal in each half against mid-table AFC Darwen.

The action returns on Monday when Winsford United host Irlam in the Premier Division and AFC Liverpool make the trip to Daisy Hill in the First Division North.
