Just hours before their FA Vase game against West Allotment Celtic, NWCFL Premier Division side Squires Gate have confirmed that manager Andy Clarkson has left the club via mutual consent.

A statement from the club says, "Squires Gate can confirm that manager Andy Clarkson has this week left the role as First Team Manager via Mutual Consent.

Clarkson who saved Gate from relegation in his first season leaves the club ahead of Saturday’s FA Vase clash with West Allotment Celtic.

Under Andy's stewardship Gate finished 11th and 8th in the Premier Division enjoying a memorable FA Cup win against Droylsden.

The club would like to thank Andy Clarkson for his tireless efforts during his time at the club leaving us in better shape than when he joined. We wish Andy the best of luck in his next footballing chapter.

A further statement will be released following today's FA Vase clash regarding an advert for the Managerial position."

Squires currently lie 18th in the table after a difficult start to the season - winning one, drawing one and losing four in the process.
