Isuzu FA Vase Fifth Round Draw
Mon 19th January 2026 | FA Challenge Vase | By Media Team
The draw for the Fifth Round of the 2025/26 Isuzu FA Vase has been made this afternoon, with the draw taking place live on TalkSport.
Two of our member Clubs have progressed through to this round of the competition, which is the last 16 and just three wins away from a place at Wembley! One is in familiar territory and one has reached this round for the first time.
Despite it being a national competition, it is disappointing that the draw is still regionalised at this late stage, with both of our clubs in Zone 1 which represents the eight most northerly teams. Zone 2 obviously makes up the other eight.
Its pleasing though that both of our sides avoided each other in the draw with Droylsden the first of our teams drawn out. They will travel to Midland League Division One side Bilston Town, who play at Step 6 the same as Droylsden. Bilsten are doing well this season, currently sitting in fifth place in their league with Play-Off's very much the aim for them. Bilston is a market town which is situated between Wolverhampton and Walsall, not far from Junction 10 of the M6.
The club have reached this stage with wins over Hereford Pegasus, FC Stratford, Winslow United, Northampton ON Chenecks and Gresley Town. It is not yet a club record though in the Vase for Bilston as they reached the Quarter Final stage in 1992/93 before losing to Canvey Island. However this is the furthest they have got since that run. For Droylsden, this is the furthest they have got, with the Third Round previously their best.
West Didsbury & Chorlton are also at home, and they will face our reigning First Division South Champions Winsford United. The Blues are also in the Midland League but in the Premier Division, and they are sitting in tenth place at present with games in hand on those above them. They beat Wombwell Town in their opening Vase game this season, and have claimed a hat-trick of wins since over NWCFL sides, knocking out Barnoldswick Town, Prestwich Heys and South Liverpool.
This is the furthest that Winsford have ever got in the Vase, however West Didsbury reached the Quarter Finals a few years back where they were beaten by Ascot United in a penalty shoot out, with Ascot going on to win the competition that season.
