The draw has been made for the Second Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Vase.

AFC Liverpool, Bury, Holker Old Boys and West Didsbury & Chorlton will all enter at the Second Round stage having been exempt until now due to reaching the last 32 of last season's competition.

Games are scheduled for Saturday 11 November 2023 and the prize fund at this stage is £900 for winning clubs while the losing teams receive £275.

Ties involving our sides

The NWCL still have 17 teams involved in the draw, with seven teams getting through Saturday's First Round to join the four mentioned above. A further six sides saw their games postponed due to the weather on Saturday and will try again either midweek or next Saturday.

The draw has been rather kind to NWCFL sides, with not many facing each other in the Second Round. First Division South side Ashville will entertain First Division North Holker Old Boys should they win their postponed game with Glasshoughton Welfare. The only other potential all-NWCFL tie would see First Division North side Ashton Town entertain Bury should they beat Wickham in their postponed game.

Premier Division side Charnock Richard will tavel to Northern Counties East side Eccleshill United, whilst West Didsbury & Chorlton are at home to another Northern Counties East side in Albion Sports.

A few sides will come up against Northern League opposition. First Division North side South Liverpool travel to County Durham to face Horden Community Welfare, whilst Atherton LR face an even longer trip as they visit Newcastle University. AFC Liverpool will have to wait and see whether they travel to Blyth Town or Crook Town, whilst Irlam are in a similar boat with a trip to either Seaham Red Star or Knaresborough Town. Cheadle Town will travel to former NWCFL side Carlisle City should they win at Ryton & Crawcrook Albion.

The winners of the Stockport Georgians v Droylsden game will also face a Northern League side with the famous non-league side Bishop Auckland awaiting the winners. And Abbey Hey could also face a Northern League side as they will welcome either Redcar Athletic or former NWCFL side Silsden who now play in the Northern Counties East. Ramsbottom United are in a similar situation, as they will be at home to Northern League side and former Vase winners Whitley Bay or Northern Counties League side Bottesford Town. Darwen would see a trip to yet another former NWCFL side in Emley if they can win their game at Heaton Stannington.

Brocton are the NWCFL anomoly here, as they are in the Midland pot of balls due to their geographical location. They will face a trip to Ashby Ivanhoe or Belper United, both of whom play in the United Counties League Premier Division North, and they will try again tomorrow after their postponement on Saturday.
