The weekend of NWCFL action concluded on Sunday with six NWCFL sides in action in the Buildbase First Qualifying Round across the region.

The only side to came away with a definitive place in the next round was Premier Division side Squires Gate - as they came from behind to defeat Whickham 2-1 after extra-time. James Boyd equalised with virtually the last kick of the game to send the game into thirty minutes of additional time, then with just ten minutes to go Dean Ing popped up to slot the ball home gifting Andy Clarkson's side the victory.

There was an all-NWCFL game between Emley AFC and Burscough at the Fantastic Media Stadium. The tie looked to be heading Emley's way as 177 spectators looked on after an early Dominic Riordan goal. But, with seconds left, Chris Lomax squeezed the ball home to send the game into extra-time. Emley had the chance to wrap the game up from the penalty spot in first-half extra-time, but Daniel Farrer saw his penalty saved. Burscough's Lufudu was sent off late on but Emley did not have time to capitalise as they head for a replay on Wednesday evening.

An interesting game at Litherland REMYCA saw two sendings off, followed by two sin bins at one point as they played with just seven men for ten minutes. But, after coming from 3-0 down after thirty minutes, the Premier Division side eventually run out of legs and fell to a 6-3 loss to NCEL Division One side Glasshoughton Welfare 6-3 after extra-time.

Lastly, Henry Kamara's late goal for St Helens Town was nothing more than a consolation as they were defeated at home against Rossington Main, whilst Shelley headed back home after exiting the FA Vase 4-0 at the hands of NCEL Premier Division side Handsworth at Sandy Lane.

The action in the NWCFL returns on Monday evening as Winsford United host Ramsbottom United in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round Replay.
