We are delighted to confirm our PST Sport Club of the Month winners for September 2025.

The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition. Last months winners were are as follows:
Premier Division - FC St Helens
Winning the Premier Division award for September 2025 is FC St Helens. This is the first monthly award in the Premier Division for FC St Helens and their first since February 2024.
FC St Helens played seven games in the month, winning five of them and losing two as they cemented themselves in a Play-Off positions, finishing the month three points behind leaders Padiham. Even more impressive is that of the seven games they played, six were away from home with all five wins coming on the road.
They started the month off with a 2-1 win at Euxton Villa. After falling behind in the first half, Joe Barker levelled things seven minutes into the second half before Josh Briggs hit the winner with 12 minutes remaining. Next came a trip to South Liverpool and another 2-1 win. This had a similar feel to Euxton, with South taking the lead just before the break and Tom McNamara levelling 12 minutes into the second half. One again it was Josh Briggs who hit the winner, this coming five minutes after McNamara's goal.
A third successive away game came at Abbey Hey, and this one was more straight forward with a 3-0 win for St Helens. Briggs opened the scoring this time just before the break with Parker once again scoring in the 52nd minute to make it two. Barker sealed the win in stoppage time with his second of the game, this coming from the penalty spot.
A mid-month hiccup came with a 1-0 defeat at home to Wythenshawe. This was followed by another defeat as they lost 2-1 at Atherton LR. Chris Hill put St Helens ahead in that game just before the hour before LR turned the game around.
FC St Helens bounced back in the sixth game of the month as they won 2-1 at City of Liverpool. James Murphy opened the scoring for the Stripes this time before CoL levelled early in the second half. Harry Scarborough hit the winner with eight minutes remaining.
The final game was at Ashton Athletic in the Macron Cup, and perhaps the barmiest ending ever to a NWCFL tie. With scores level at the break, Ashton scored twice to lead and that was still the scor as the board went up for added on time. Harry Hagan hit what was surely a consolation, and then three minute into stoppage time Mackenzie O`Neill equalised. With everyone expecting penalties, Michael Ibeto scored the winner six minutes into stoppage time, putting St Helens through.
Those results gave FC St Helens 18 points towards the Club of the Month calculation from their 7 games for a 2.57 average.
The closest challengers were Prestwich Heys, who also had five wins in the month, plus Charnock Richard who won three times.

First Division North - Nelson
Club of the Month in the First Division North is Nelson, who have won the award for the second time in four months as they also won this in March 2025.
Nelson had a superb month, playing three games on the road and winning all of them. This saw them move up to third in the league, level with the league leaders but with a game in hand. They also progressed through to the next round of the Lancashire Challenge Trophy, Isuzu FA Vase and Macron Cup, with all of those wins also coming on the road.
The first game was a 1-0 win at Daisy Hill, with Max Cane scoring the only goal with nine minutes remaining. Next came a 2-0 win at Bacup Borough with second half goals from Luke Hepple and Finley Devenney securing all three points. And a third win inside a week then came at Ashton Athletic, with Luke Hepple opening the scoring on 39 minutes before Billy Priestley added a second ten minutes into the second half.
The Lancashire Challenge Trophy was next with Nelson travelling to Colne. The home side led 1-0 at the break with Ryan Bolton levelling for Nelson, before Colne raced into a 3-1 lead by the hour mark. Ryan Cattermole reduced the arrears with six minutes to go before Jack Doherty equalised with two minutes remaining. With penalties looming, Luke Hepple won it with a goal nine minutes into stoppage time.
Nelson then travelled to Northern League Division One side Boro Rangers in the Izuzu FA Vase. Boro took the lead on the half hour with Luke Hepple levelling from the penalty spot on the hour mark. Ryan Bolton won the game for Nelson in the 76th minute, Nelson winning 2-1.
The final game came in the Macron Cup at home to Nelson. Fulwood took an early lead before Nelson levelled midway through Billy Priestley. Chris Thompson was the hero for Nelson, saving twice in the shootout Nelson was 4-3 from the penalty spot.
That gave them a whopping 24 points from their 6 games for a 4.00 average.
Fulwood Amateurs and Darwen both had a good month with two wins and two draws, with MSB Woolton also starting well in their first NWCFL season with two wins, two draws and a loss.

First Division South - Runcorn Town
The winner of the Club of the Month in the First Division South are Runcorn Town. This is the first monthly award for Runcorn Town since they won the Premier Division Club of the Month in September 2017.
After a good end to last season, they have started superbly and sat second in the First Division South table at the end of September. They won two and drew two in the league, and had a superb win in the Isuzu FA Vase against a Premier Division side Stockport Town. They also progressed through in the Macron Cup.
They started the month with a 2-2 home draw with New Mills, The Millers took a fourth minute lead with Connor Spiers levelling three minutes later. New Mills then regained the lead just before the hour before Jamie Apperley levelled for the second time six minutes later. Next was a 2-1 home win over Cammell Laird 1907. Matty Ball put Runcorn ahead with another fourth minute goal before Lairds levelled nine minutes later. Charlie Harland hit the winner for Runcorn, that goal coming again just before the hour mark.
Another draw followed at Eccleshall, and this time Runcorn had to show their bouncebackability. Eccleshall went 2-0 up in this game and deservedly led at the break. Matty Vickers started the comeback with a 51st minute goal, with Vickers then levelling matters with 18 minutes to go. Two days later Vickers was again Runcorn's saviour, this time scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win at Cheadle Heath Nomads.
Attention then turned to the Isuzu FA Vase, with Runcorn travelling to Stockport Town who play in the league above them. A dominant performance saw Will Avon open the scoring from a well worked set piece on 24 minutes, with Ryan Katumba securing a 2-0 win with a goal nine minutes into the second half.
The final game saw Barnton visit Runcorn in the Macron Cup. It was another clean sheet in a 1-0 win, with Connor Spiers once again on target with his 14th minutes strike proving decisive.
That gave them 19 points from their 6 games for a 3.17 average.
Closest to them was Sandbach United, who also had four wins and two draws. Newcomers Telford Town also had another good month with three wins, a draw and a loss.

Premier Division - FC St Helens
Winning the Premier Division award for September 2025 is FC St Helens. This is the first monthly award in the Premier Division for FC St Helens and their first since February 2024.
