We were delighted to catch up recently with the Reusch UK Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month award winner for July/August 2024.
Longridge Town Goalkeeper Jordan Gibley received the award from League Fixture Co-Ordinator Jeff Voller who carried out the presentation on behalf of the League and our sponsors Reusch UK. Jordan recieves a pair of Goalkeeper Gloves from one of Reuch UK's leading range of Goalkeeper products.
Jordan joined Longridge Town in the summer having played for Nelson last season, where they finished in the relegation places in the First Division North. As an experienced keeper at this level the club say that he has been brilliant working with what is a very young side, marshalling quite a young defence in front of him.
Enjoying the step up in divisions he kept a clean sheet in the opening game of the season, a 1-0 victory over Burscough. Despite Longridge losing the second game of the season, Jordan and his team bounced back and opened August with three victories and three more clean sheets. The first saw Longridge progress in the FA Cup with a 2-0 win at home to Cheadle Town before a 1-0 away win at FC Isle of Man. His fourth clean sheet in five games came in the 8-0 win at Colne.
Unfortunately for Jordan, he suffered a serious ankle injury in an the next game, the FA Cup tie at home to 1874 Northwich. He has not played since that, and everyone at the league wishes him the very best with his recovery.
Congrations again Jordan!
