The FA have confirmed the list of clubs whom have applied for promotion from the County Feeder Leagues to Step Six of the National League System NLS. Clubs who are interested in promotion at the end of 2023-24 were required to formally apply by 31st December 2023 and are all subject to a number of stringent qualifying criteria.
The FA have advised clubs that their applications are under the process of being reviewed. Clubs are also being advised of the following "If your ground requires an inspection, you will be contacted by the Stadium Accreditation team at the Football Foundation in due course, who will also include the Stadium Accreditation officer of the League who may be promoted to. (A ground requiring an inspection is one which is not in a ground share with a Club currently in the National League System). The League who will attend is not a finalised League if you are promoted."
"Please be reminded that a maximum of one Club per League may be promoted to Step 6. If there are multiple teams from your current League, then the highest eligible applicant will be promoted. No team lower than 5th in any League will be eligible for promotion. If your Club is eligible for promotion, passes the Stadium Accreditation and is the highest eligible Club in the top 5 for promotion, then you will be added to the promotion pool at Step 6. Please note that allocations will not be released until mid-May. You may not receive any communication until this point."
We here at the NWCFL wish all applicants well. We know that between now and the end of clubs respective seasons that there will be a small number of fan operated projection websites who will speculate which team will go into which division if promoted, however we wish to stress that there are a number of specific criteria, not least those listed above and that the FA Leagues Committee make the allocation decisions at the end of the full season. Geographical boundaries are fluid and can be impacted by qualifying clubs around the country.
