League Statistician Kevin Lawton takes a look at the stats which made the difference in the first fixtures of 2022- despite the weather delaying a few more.

League Milestones

In the Premier, Longridge conceded their 150th goal as they beat Ashton Athletic 3-2, while Lower Breck played their 50th home game in losing against Wythenshawe Town. Runcorn Town conceded their 400th home goal when Avro won 2-1 last Monday and Skelmersdale Utd scored their 950th home goal in beating Burscough 4-1. 

In the First Division North, Cleator Moor Celtic's first goal in their impressive 5-4 win at St Helens was their 200th. South Liverpool also conceded their 50th goal in their 2-1 defeat at home to Steeton. Finally, Garstang scored their 100th away goal with their opener at AFC Darwen.

And in the First Division South, Cammel Lairds final goal of their 6-0 win at St Martins was the clubs 200th away goal.

Goal Heroes

Dave Short of Winsford hit all three as his side beat Skelmersdale 3-2, Bacup Borough’s Anthony Hall netted a hat-trick when they beat Pilkington and Elliot Hughes took home the match-ball for St Helens as they went down in the nine goal thriller against Cleator Moor. Finally, Ryan Usher hit three for Cheadle Town as they won 4-1 at Cammell Laird.
