League Statistician Kevin Lawton continues his in-depth looks at this seasons Stats and Milestones around all three NWCFL Divisions. This second installment looks at the First Division North.

Part Two: The First Division North

The Players

A total of 744 players were used across the division, in league and cup games. Daisy Hill used the most with 62, whilst the fewest was by Bacup Borough with just 29.

Three players started every league game: Alex Welsh for Squires Gate, Oliver Hodgson at Bacup (also appeared in all the cup games, coming off the bench once), and Kyle Campbell for Droylsden, who was the only player to start every one of his team’s games, league and cup.

Joshua Walne at Bacup appeared in every league and cup game, with 23 starts and 16 coming off the bench.

The League Game Super Sub title goes to William Adams who came off the bench on 23 occasions for Ashton Athletic.

Hat-Tricks (and more): Spencer Lucas hit an amazing SIX goals in his sides 7-1 win at Garstang and hit two more triples during the season.

Cody Artwell hit a four and a three for Droylsden and Luke Noble got a quadruple for Thornton Cleveleys.

Penalty King: Daniel Ventre put home eight from the spot for MSB Woolton.

Clean Sheets: Christopher Thompson of Nelson kept the opposition out on 16 occasions, followed by Jordan Latham with 14 clean sheets for Droylsden.

The Teams

Bacup Borough passed the 1,600 NWCFL: game mark.

AFC Blackpool, Daisy Hill and Maine Road reached the 1,500 landmark.

Nelson had the biggest home win when they beat Telford Town 10-1 in the Macron Cup, whilst Maghull had the biggest home league win, beating Steeton 7-0

Garstang were on the end of the two biggest away wins with both Fulwood Amateurs and Thornton Cleveleys winning 7-1 at The Riverside.

Nelson and Droylsden both had 7 game winning streaks in the league, whilst for the former, this was part of a 16 game undefeated run.

Clean Sheets: 158 in both League and Cup (113/45), Nelson top again, with 12 and 4.

Nelson and Squires Gate both had a run of 25 games when they scored in each game..

Attendances (League games):

Best Average: Droylsden (482), Maghull (267), Darwen FC (249), Thornton Cleveleys (227)

Highest: 895 Darwen v Colne (27/02/26)

Lowest: 40 AFC Blackpool v Ashton Athletic (08/11/25)

In the Play-Off Final, 1,940 witnessed the Droylsden v Maghull game.

Overall: 51,433 supporters attended league games at an average of 168.

League Goals

There were 1,096 goals, with 613 home and 483 away. 476 (43%) were scored in the first half and 620 (57%) in the second. 77 goals were scored AFTER the 89th minute.

There were, on average, 3.58 goals per league game and 113 clean sheets

The most common result was the 2-2 draw, 31 games ending this way, with a 2-1 home win being recorded 30 times.

65 penalties were tucked away, and 11 own goals were scored in the league games

Just 9 league games finished goal-less.
