What was set out to be an entertaining midweek's worth of NWCFL turned into a damp squid, with a near washout from the original 20 schedule games with three-quarters called off.

On Monday evening, Whitchurch Alport and Litherland REMYCA drew 1-1 in the NWCFL Premier Division. Joe Cuff put the home side in front on 11 minutes but moments later Phil Stafford equalised and that is how the game fininshed.

Meanwhile, in the other game of the night, Daisy Hill came form 2-0 down to beat Prestwich Heys - James Bateman netting a hat-trick on a fine night for Brian Hart's side.

Tuesday saw just the one game go ahead, with FC Oswestry Town running out comfortable 4-0 winners against Cheadle Heath Nomads  - Leonard Hamilton bagging a first-half brace, followed by a Simon Smith and Liam Parry goals.

Emley AFC's game with AFC Darwen survived on Wednesday night, with 89 fans witnessing an entertaining game which ended 3-1 to the home team.

Then, on Thursday evening it was a five-star performance for Garstang who ran out 5-1 winners away at St Helens Town.

The action returns on Friday evening with Runcorn Town hosting Avro in the NWCFL Premier Division. Then on Saturday, the other 58 NWCFL sides are in action in their respective leagues.
