Steeton appoint UEFA B licenced coach to their staff

NWCFL First Division North side Steeton are delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Blackwell to their first-team coaching staff.

A statement from the club says, "Brian is a qualified UEFA B coach and has a track record of developing young players. He previously worked at Guiseley AFC’s Centre of Excellence, guiding the Under 16s to the Junior Premier League National Elite title in 2018.

Alongside his UEFA B licence, Brian has extensive coaching experience and qualifications that include FA Youth Modules, FA Talent ID and FA Football Psychology Levels. He recently worked as Head Coach at Silsden AFC and played semi-professional football before taking up coaching.

First team manager Roy Mason says he is excited to work with Brian and that the club is in a fortunate position to have a coach with his credentials involved: “We’re trying to develop young players and with Chris Reape and Brian on the coaching staff as UEFA coaches it puts us in a really strong position for the future.”

Brian said: “I’m really looking forward to working with Roy and Chris as they attempt to turn around the fortunes of the club. Hopefully, we’ll be able to push on and achieve great things in the future.”

Brian ill travel with the team for their league fixture against Holker on Saturday.
