Runcorn Town Achieve Ground Grading Status

Runcorn Town FC's hopes of progression into the Vodkat League for the 2010/11 season moved a step closer on Tuesday after their Pavilions ground achieved the required grading to enter the league.
Club Secretary Martin Fallon said: "All of the committee have been working hard for the last three years to get the ground up to the required standard, and we are delighted that we have now met the standard to enable us entry into the Vodkat League.
"This is not "job done" for us though. There are various jobs around the ground that we would like to do but we have been concentrating on work that was required in order for us to achieve the required grading. Now this has been met, we can begin work on the other jobs which will further enhance our facilities."
With the grading achieved, attention now turns back the team, with Town needing a top two finish in order to secure Vodkat League status automatically. They are in pole position to do just that with the team sitting top of the West Cheshire League, nine points clear of their nearest rivals, although all those below them have games in hand.
Fallon says: "A few teams can catch us but we just need to concentrate on what we are doing as we cannot do anything about their results. The club is now geared for Vodkat League football and it would be unbelievable to leave the West Cheshire League as Champions, particularly given the fact that no Runcorn side has won the Division One title in the 117 year history of the league".
