Runcorn Town's FA Vase adventure ended at the hands of Northern League side Dunston UTS a couple of weeks ago, but their hosting of the game made an impression on the North East club officials.

League Secretary John Deal received the following note from Dunston UTS last week:

Dear John,

I write on behalf of all at Dunston UTS F.C. to commend Runcorn Town F.C.for their sportsmanship, hospitality and friendship.

We can honestly say that they were a credit to your well respected League. From the outset they showed what non-league football is all about, with superb administration from Secretary Martin Fallon and quiet efficiency in staging the match.

We wish them every success in achieving promotion and hope that your League will continue to thrive.

Regards - Bill Montague - Dunston UTS

John Deal said: "Having been at the game on the day, I saw at first hand the work that Runcorn Town's committee had put in to ensure that everything went smoothly on the day.  Their organisation was excellent, and was all the more praiseworthy considering it was the first time they had ever hosted a game in the FA Vase, and the game attracted their biggest ever attendance.

"They represented the league very well, and their efforts were obviously appreciated by their visitors."
