August 2026 PST Sport Club of the Month

We are delighted to confirm our PST Sport Club of the Month winners for August 2026.

The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition. Last months winners were are as follows:
Premier Division - Trafford
Winning the Premier Division award for August 2026 is Trafford.
After relegation from the Northern Premier League last season, Trafford have started the season well in their return to the NWCFL. They have played five league games, winning four of them and losing one, as well as progressing in the Emirates FA Cup with two wins, one of which was against a side from the league above.
They started the season in convincing style with a 3-0 home win against Longridge Town. Ryan Brooke scored their first goal of the season midway through the first half with Kyle Worsley and Finley Stanyer adding to the score in the second half. Their first away game was at last seasons runners-up Ramsbottom United, this the only blip on an otherwise perfect month as they lost 3-0.
They bounced back with progress in the Emirates FA Cup with a trip to Northern Counties East side Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, with Scott Sephton and Harry Norris goals securing a 2-0 win. A week later was another Northern Counties East side as they travelled to Armthorpe Welfare in the FA Vase, Bile Ahmed putting them ahead on the stroke of half time. Luke Sephton added a second on the hour with Kyle Worsley scoring the third, before Ahmed secured a 4-0 win in stoppage time with his second goal of the game.
A return to league action came next in what was their fourth successive away game, a trip to Abbey Hey. First half goals from Luke Sephton and Dillon Edmundson put them in control, with Sephton getting his second of the game in stoppage time for a 3-0 win.
The highlight of the month for Trafford came next as they travelled to Runcorn Linnets in the Emirates FA Cup. It was especially memorable for Ryan Brooke, who is the all time leading goalscorer at the Northern Premier League side, and he put Trafford ahead against his former club after just seven minutes. Jensen Bowering increased the lead after 19 minutes with David Worrall making it three at the start of the second half. Linnets hit back and then added a second in stoppage time, but Trafford held on for a famous win.
The final game of the month came with a home game against FC Isle of Man, their first at home since the opening day. Ryan Brooke scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win to ensure a solid month for Trafford.
Those results gave them 23 points towards the Club of the Month calculation from their 7 games for a 3.29 average.
The closest challengers were Nelson who have started the season well after promotion last season. Fellow promoted side Droylsden were also up there as were Prestwich Heys.

First Division North - Maghull
Club of the Month in the First Division North is Maghull, who have once again started the season in blistering fashion.
Maghull sit proudly at the top of the league at the end of August. After losing their first game of the season, they romped to victory in their next eight games, scoring a whopping 26 goals in the month and conceded just eight.
They started the season with a trip to Darwen with Nathan Moffitt putting them ahead on 7 minutes. However the home side turned it around to win 2-1 with two late goals, the winner coming just two minutes from time.
They bounced back with a 1-0 home win against AFC Blackpool, Jamie Clark's penalty on 69 minutes the difference, before beating Holker Old Boys 4-1 at home. Holker took an early lead with Wil Hoey levelling before the break. Connor Rankin put Maghull ahead just before the hour, with two late goals from Sam Smith giving them the win.
Next came an impressive 3-0 midweek win at Ashton Town, Sam Smith scoring once in each half with a penalty from Jamie Clark in stoppage time being the icing on the cake. A trip to Uppermill was next and they fell behind in the first half. However Ayden Garrigan levelled after an hour with Connor Rankin scoring the winner for Maghull in a 2-1 win in the last minute of the game.
Maghull's next game was at home to Ashton Athletic with Nathan Moffitt putting them ahead midway through the half. However just a minute later Ashton levelled. Sam Smith's fifth goal of the season put them back ahead before half time, with Nathan Peet and Jacob Till securing a 4-1 win in the second half. A third clean sheet of the month came at Garstang next in a 3-0 win. Connor Rankin scored just after half an hour, with another Jamie Clark penalty making it 2-0 six minutes into the second half. Nathan Peet scored the final goal
Perhaps the performance of the month came in the next game at home to Maine Road, a 5-1 victory being their biggest of the month. They went ahead through Connor Rankin on 16 minutes with their opponents levelling shortly after. It stayed that was until just after the hour when a quickfire double from Nathan Moffitt put them in control before Rankin added his second of the game with 20 minutes to go. A Harry Long goal in the last minute outlined their superiority.
The final game came at home to AFC Knowsley on Bank Holiday Monday, with a superb crowd of 455 watching what was a local derby. Knowsley took an early lead before a double from Nathan Peet turned things around, although scores were level at the break when Knowsley equalised just before the break. Maghull secured what was their eighth successive win with Connor Rankin making it 3-2 on the hour.
That gave them 27 points from their 9 games for a 3.00 average.
Cammell Laird 1907 had a good month after their switch to the North with five wins and two draws in their eight games. Woolton had four wins and three draws, with Darwen also having four wins in the month.

First Division South - AFC Bridgnorth
The winner of the Club of the Month in the First Division South are AFC Bridgnorth, their first month in the NWCFL being impressive after being laterally moved from the Midland League.
They spoke pre-season that the move to our league could benefit them with more local games than last season, and they have started the season with five wins and two draws from their seven games. They have also done it in style with 20 goals scored, scoring three or more goals in five of their seven games in the month.
Their first NWCFL game came at home to Foley Meir, with Sam Preece scoring in first half stoppage time to open their account. Foley levelled in the opening stages of the second half, but a late double from Suar Dedja - both goals coming in the final six minutes - gave them their first three points.
It was a win that obviously gave them confidence, as a midweek trip to Bilston Town saw them return with a 4-0 win. Kobi Love put them ahead on 20 minutes before another quick Suar Dedja double made it three, this time his goals coming in the last five minutes of the first half. A strong performance was highlighted when Craig Tuckley added a fourth midway through the second half.
The third game was Bilston Town again, this time at home in the Edward Case Cup. It looked like a repeat was on the cards with Mitchell Evans and Craig Tuckley making it 2-0 with less than an hour played, however Bilston hit back this time to secure a 2-2 draw. That meant penalties with AFC Bridgnorth winning 4-1 from the spot. Their first league points were dropped in the next game which was a 1-1 draw at Wednesfield Community. The home side went ahead with just 18 minutes to go, but Bridgnorth showed their grittiness with a leveller four minutes later.
They returned to winning ways with a 4-1 win at home to Crewe, but it was not all plain sailing, especially when Crewe went ahead after two minutes. Michael Williams levelled after 15 minutes, and it remained that way until Suar Dedja put them ahead on 64 minutes. It took a late double from Nehemia Zazi to secure the win, both his goals coming in the last ten minutes.
A trip to Alsager Town was next, with the home side taking the lead before Suar Dedja's penalty on the half hour making it one each. Bridgnorth went in at the break ahead with Sam Preece scoring just before the whistle, and Preece then made it 3-1 at the start of the second half. Another from Alsager just after the hour made it interesting, but they could not find an equalier, Bridgnorth winning 3-2.
The seventh final game of the month saw them host New Mills, another game where they won 3-2 but this time having to twice come from behind. The Millers scored early before Suar Dedja equalised on 17 minutes. Just before half time New Mills went ahead only for Mitchell Evans to level just before the hour. With a draw looking likely, David Anani hit the winner three minutes from time.
That gave them 20 points from their 7 games for a 2.86 average.
Closest to them was Eccleshall with six wins from eight games, with Wolverhampton Casuals winning five of their seven games. Brereton Social also started well with three wins before tailing off as the month progressed.
