Stafford Town have announced a change in Chairman with Paul Beedell stepping down due to health reasons.

Paul took over the reigns in September 2022 in the clubs second season in the NWCFL First Division South. After finishing 18th that first season, he gradually turned things around with the club finishing in the Play-Off's for the first time last season, as well as reaching the Final of both the Macron Cup and Edward Case Cup.

He has also been instrumental in the club's expansion which now boasts over 30 teams. As well as the First Team, the club also has a Development Team, Ladies Teams, and Disability Team as well as boys and girls teams at every age range in in Junior Football.

Paul will continue in an advisory capacity.

Taking over the reigns is Ian Setterfield, who has been at the club for eight years and who has stepped up from the Vice Chairman position he has held for the last three years.

Speaking of his appointment, Ian said "I am really proud and honoured to become Chairman of such a fantastic club that is going from strength to strength. It has fantastic supporters and a great bunch of volunteers who help to run the club.

"I would also like to express my gratitude to Paul for his continued support whilst I settle into the role."
