The January 2024 Reusch UK Goalkeeper of the Month Awards were discussed, reviewed and approved at the recent NWCFL Management Committee Meeting held this week.
In the Premier Division it is Bury FC's Harry Wright. Harry played in 3 games keeping 3 clean sheets.
In their nomination statement, Bury state "It's been another good month for Harry and the rest of the Shakers defensive unit. With two clean sheets and only 1 goal conceded in the 3 games. Harry has picked up 7 clean sheets in his 12 league matches.

The First Division North award goes to Ashton Town's James McClenaghan. James played in 3 games and putting in commanding performances from the back as clarified in the clubs nomination statement. "James is a solid and very experienced goal keeper in supporting our back line and is a very vocal keeper barking out instructions not only to our defence but also to our midfield and forwards! His continued vigilance during spells of none activity are key to him ensuring alertness for key moments of inactivity during a game. James has played in the following 3 matches:- Tuesday 9th January away to Ashton Athletic in a rearranged fixture winning 1-4 in a keenly fought local derby. Saturday 27th January at home to Garstang in yet another rearranged fixture winning 4-1 in a dominant team display. Tuesday 30th January at home to Euxton Villa in a very keenly fought game from both teams near the top of the division with Ashton winning 2-1"

In First Division South the award goes to Stockport Towns, Joshua Schofield. Josh played in all three game keeping one clean sheet and netting a man of the match award. The Clubs award nomination statement was to the point - "Josh has excelled in goal again this month having played every game". Fair enough, the numbers add up and Josh gets the award.
