The last game of a record breaking Groundhop  was landlords v previous tenants as Winsford United took on 1874 Northwich.

Whilst the game itself didn’t provide too much entertainment, it definitely provided with some quality goals as 1874 picked up three points to move closer towards the title.

A slow start to the game with neither keeper really being tested early on left the six hundred strong crowd wondering where a goal would come from however when it came it was worth the wait.

Just past the midway point in the first half and Northwich scored a wonder goal. Matthew Woolley hit an inch perfect strike from over twenty five yards out into the top corner leaving most in attendance in shock.

A couple of minutes later and the visitors double their lead with a great solo effort from Lee Knight. The forward run past four defenders before finishing into the bottom corner.

The second half was a dull effort, 1874 happy to sit back on their early goals with Winsford not looking likely to begin reducing the deficit.

Twenty seven goals in total for the Groundhop, with some high crowds as the weekend came to an end.
