A fine second half performance from Widnes saw them through to a 3-0 win over local rivals Runcorn Linnets in the Reusch Challenge Cup game at the Millbank Linnets Stadium.
After a goalless opening 45 minutes, George Lomax broke the deadlock for Widnes seven minutes into the second half, and the same player doubled his side's advantage three minutes later.
Ben Hodkinson added a third goal for Widnes with just under 20 minutes remaining to round off a good afternoon for Widnes, who have now won three consecutive games in the space of a few months in Halton derby clashes.
