When Runcorn Town travelled to Barnton earlier in the season, seven supporters of Runcorn Town did it the hard way and walked from ground to ground.
The reason for this was not because they are mad (although some of them are!). It was to raise money for CANSupport, Runcorn Town's nominated charity for the 2017/18 season.
CANsupport is a cancer support fundraising group established by volunteers at the Delamere Centre, based at Halton Hospital in Runcorn. The Centre provides a range of services to its users including refreshments, complimentary therapies, counselling, access to a welfare rights service, lymphoedema therapy, and specialist courses to help patients with specific needs.
As a result of the walkers efforts on the day, a magnificent total of £1069.00 was raised. Half of this money raised was for CANSupport, with a cheque for £534.50 handed over to the charity ahead of the return match with Barnton last Saturday afternoon.

The other half of the money raised has been ringfenced by the football club and will be put towards the cost of purchasing a defibrillator, which they hope to purchase over the coming months.
