Bootle's 10-0 win over AFC Darwen was the tenth time in League history that the score has been recorded.

It isn't, however, Bootle's record win in their League history.  Saturday's result was surpassed on the 19th May 2001, when they beat Oldham Town 12-1 in a Divison Two game, in the days when they played their home games at the old Kirkby Sports Centre.

The last time we saw a 10-0 score in a League fixture was just over a year ago on 31st December 2016 when City of Liverpool won at Stockport Town.

That was one of just two occasions when the score has been achieved in an away game, the other being on the 18th January 1986 when Formby lost 10-0 at home to Irlam Town in a Division One game.

The other games that ended 10-0 are:

1st Sep 84 - Stalybridge Celtic v  Netherfield - Div 1

12 Apr 94 - Haslingden v K Chell - Div 2

11 Feb 95 - Nantwich Town v Skelmersdale United - Div 1

30 Aug 97 - Tetley Walker v Bacup Borough - Div 2

12 Sept 98 - Abbey Hey v Blackpool Mechanics- Div 2 Trophy

7 Jan 06 - Cammell Laird v Stone Dominoes - Div 1

23 Apr 16 - St Helens Town v Whitchurch Alport - Div 1
