1874 Northwich are the only one of our clubs left flying the League flag in the Buildbase FA Vase, following the 3rd Round ties on Saturday.

The Greens emeregd victorious from the all-Premier Division clash with Ashton Athletic, but Runcorn Linnets and City of Liverpool both lost their 3rd Round ties to Northern League opponents.

1874 Northwich's 2-0 win over Ashton Athletic at the St Luke's Barton Stadium was achieved through goals in each half from Ryan Mitchell and Jake Parker, and they now progress to the last 32 of the competition, the draw for which is made on Monday.

Runcorn Linnets almost staged a remarkable comeback at home to Marske United, after being three goals down with 15 minutes remaining.

A Daniel O`Brien penalty and a second goal from Antony Hickey gave Linnets a lifeline, but the visitors held out to win 3-2.

A 20th minute goal from Stockton Town's Fred Woodhouse earned them a 1-0 win at home to City of Liverpool.

All the other Premier Division sides were in league action, and the three sides at the top failed to pick up maximum points.

The eye catching result of the day was league leaders Runcorn Town falling to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Winsford United. Craig Cairns gave Town the lead, but Ryan Steele levelled before and half time and Callum Gardner struck the winner for Winsford on 73 minutes.

Widnes continued their good form with a 3-0 home win over Hanley Town, in which Kevin Towey scored twice, and Burscough continued their recent improved form by holding Charnock Richard to a 1-1 draw in the derby clash at Victoria Park.

Carl Grimshaw gave Charnock the lead in the 32nd minute, but Ben Maddocks rescued a point for the home side with an equaliser 12 minutes from the end.

A Connor Millington goal earned Bootle a 1-0 win over Squires Gate to keep them in sixth place, a point ahead of Padiham who beat Northwich Victoria 2-1 at Townfield thanks to a double from Dominic Craig.

There were also doubles for Mark Threlfall of Barnoldswick Town in their 4-1 win over West Didsbury & Chorlton, and for Jack Coop of Maine Road in the 3-2 win over AFC Darwen.

Emini Adegbenro and Liam Moran were on target for Congleton Town in the 2-0 win at Irlam, and AFC Liverpool stayed just outside the relegation zone with a 3-1 home win over Abbey Hey, with Kevin Edgar scoring twice for the Reds.

In the First Division, league leaders Silsden AFC were in active due to a frozen pitch at Bacup Borough, but second placed Litherland REMYCA failed to narrow the gap at the top after going down 3-2 at Holker Old Boys in a game that had a dramatic late twist.

Remy were 2-1 ahead with only two minutes to go, but goals from Nathan Reid and Nathan McHugh snatched an unlikely victory for the Cumbrians.

Fifth placed AFC Blackpool narrowed the gap on Alsager Town one place above them with an emphatic 5-1 win at the Mechanics Ground. Conah Bishop and Billy McKenna both scored twice for the Seasiders.

Whitchurch Alport occupy the final play-off spot, with a hat trick from Arron Johns being the highlight of their 4-1 win at Cheadle Town.

An early goal from Thomas Quinn and two more from Joseph Malkin established a 3-0 first half lead for Cammell Laird 1907 that they held until the end at home to Chadderton, and Aaron Dwyer, Ben Halfacre and Thomas Bane were on target for Stockport Town in their 3-1 win over Abbey Hulton United at Stockport Sports Village.

A first half hat trick from Michael Slack set Carlisle City on the way to a 4-1 win at Atherton LR, and FC Oswestry Town once again continued their impressive run of form with a 4-0 home win over Eccleshall.

Daisy Hill recorded their first away win of the season in impressive style with Michael Gervin scoring twice in a 5-1 win at New Mills.

Daisy remain in second bottom place but have now moved five points clear of Nelson at the bottom, who fell to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of St Helens Town.
